Obviously this is very complicated but it feels like Karlsson is being valued to high in these deals

Seems like a big loser for toronto. Who probably can't afford it cap wise anyways

I applaud you for the creativity, but I think it’s a bit early for the Leafs to be trading Robertson. If he plays a season and absolutely lights it up, he’s insanely more valuable than this off-season. It’d be cheaper and maybe better long-term for the Leafs to bet on their prospects.

Again, I think what you’ve done is super creative and it’s nice to see trades that aren’t Muzzin to LA for a while.

Doubt you'll find much interest for Karlsson at that kind of price. He's not living up to his 5.9 mil aav deal, he's not young and he's signed to term.

Well as said in the description, I valued Karlsson at Holl+Robertson+1st. I think that's a relatively fair price for a solid 2C inked long-term.

What do you think is a fair price then

It would probably require moving Muzzin

I don't think he's available unfortunately. He's of great importance for Knights.

Leafs are paying too much in here.

    They give up -

    1. 2023 1st rd pick (TOR)
    2. Nicholas Robertson
    3. 2024 2nd rd pick (TOR)
    4. Roni Hirvonen
    5. 2022 3rd round pick (WPG).
    6. Justin Holl
    7. Alex Kerfoot
    8. Nick Abruzzese
    9. Petr Mrazek

    for

William Karlsson, Robin Lehner, 2022 5th rd pick (TOR)

Karlsson is borderline cap dump at this point (although I like him a lot). So call him even or of little value. I like Lehner and he would be a decent solution for the Leafs and a 5th rounder.

None of that equals what we give up. Mrazek is the only negative asset in there. Let's say him and Kerfoot cancel each other out. You give a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, A- Prospect in Robertson, 2 B prospects, Holl who is worth 3rd-5th round pick. So lets say he cancels out the 5th.

I am not giving a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, A- Prospect in Robertson, 2 B prospects for Lehner and Karlsson. Goalies don't have a crazy trade value and Karlsson isn't fully living up to his cap.

I like the creativity though but this will need some rework (at least from the Leafs perspective)

I did put all valuations in the description. Tell me which of the steps need re-working, and what would you be willing to pay.

Step 1: VGK trades F William Karlsson to TOR for D Justin Holl, F Nick Robertson and 2023 1st round pick (TOR). - Remove this entirely. No need for Karlsson from the Leafs end.

Step 2: VGK trades G Robin Lehner and a 2022 5th round pick to TOR for F Alex Kerfoot, F Roni Hirvonen and 2022 3rd round pick (TOR). - I am okay with this as long as there are no other goalie options they like

Step 3: TOR dumps G Petr Mrazek to VGK for the compensation of 2024 2nd round pick and F Nick Abruzzese - I assume it will cost a 2nd tops to dump Mrazek. So remove Abruzzese.

    In Short:
    Step 1 = Cancel completely
Step 2 = Keep as is
    Step 3 = Remove Abruzzese

Sabres would probably do that since they can actually use Broissoit

Way too many pieces moving in that leafs trade, make it two trades or something because it’s just way too much going one way

It's basically three trades, but you'd know it IF YOU READ THAT DESCRIPTION
