I don't think either guy hold much value (or shouldn't) and NYR are best to just not qualify them.

Georgiev at best is a below league avegage backup and Gauthier is a 13th Forward/AHL Forward.


I would see a team having interest in Georgiev as when he is in the zone he is good but it seems since Shesterkin came he fell off

Could see him on a team looking for a backup that can play more than 15 games

He is better, but I don't think the difference between them is big enough to amount to a $1.4 million difference in their AAV's. I think somebody would've been willing to give Boeser 7 mil (maybe even 7.5?) had he been on the market.

I feel they signed him to make him easier to move like what WPG did with Laine or CBJ with PLD

Coincidentally, Boeser's contract ends just in time for the 2025 offseason. Gonna start seeing a lot of that, I think. At least among youngish players.

Depends who’s on the board. If it’s a good prospect I would considering it’s a cheap enough buyout, but if the draft is dull by then I’m not sure I would.

Hope that some GM is dumb enough to pick someone like Boucher in the top 10 so that you can get a good prospect lol.

If someone slips like Eklund last year I’d do it, but if not probably a mid pick like a 3rd?

Fiala is significantly better than Boeser but Boeser does have a good reputation so If he puts up better numbers over the next year or 2 then the Canucks can get a solid return in a trade
