I think Necas has a lot more to give in a new scenery. I mean 203GP 45g74a 119p is not too shabby for a 23yo.

I guess I mean relative to expectations. The production is decent but he doesn’t drive play at all at even strength or on the powerplay. He has an elite skillset so I’m not sure why - maybe he’s a perimeter player ? Lacks hockey sense? Who knows, but almost every forward on the canes has a positive impact 5v5.

im guessing nj gets husso/campbell with the other one going to edmonton. blackwood asked for a trade last season so i think he's gone.

Blackwood fired his agent. There wasn't a report that said he requested a trade (not that I know of)

Isnt Bernier coming back though so its probs Campbell/Daws until Bernier returns (if he goes)

As for Husso it seems the 3 teams who could land him

1. Edmonton
2. Toronto
3. New Jersey

I got a feeling its Edmonton

So as for how the goalie markets gonna go

NO IDEA

(read last quote)

Bernier's career is probably done
Hip injuries are hard to come back from for goalies, especially when they are aging. We saw what happened with Tuukka Rask and Corey Schneider
If he does come back, he won't be the same

Yet.

When he's done with his training...that might change.

Nah, that's just stupid. What use do you have for a guy in a war that can't even load a rifle for example. It's not rocket science, but for people with no experience in guns it's gonna take a while and there's not much time to do that when you risk your life. That kind of training is what I'm talking about. The most basic things.

lack of hockey sense sounds close - maybe can be changed idk. just the fact he never shoots the puck at good chances has gotta be something mental which could be fixed, as its not that he thinks the game poorly or can't make plays. maybe better direction in coaching or confidence idk.

Not many coaches better than Brind’Amour. It’s not like he’s a rookie either, he’s been in NA for 4 years so presumably not a language barrier or anything. Probably just a confidence thing, and sometimes coaching can’t help with that, and he might just need a change of scenery to a team that will put him in a better position to succeed. He might also be better suited to centre, which he didn’t play much this year (Stutzle really broke out when he moved from LW to C).

That would probably be worse, I imagine the GM of CSKA wants him back, it’s most likely a scare tactic to keep players in Russia

It’s just concerning that on a team with a ton of great play driving defenseman and linemates he can’t figure it out. His overall impact would suggest he deserves something in the 1.5-2 mill range, but his counting stats are good so he’ll command 3-3.5 mill x 2. I don’t think Carolina is willing to go there.

What is Tony Deangelo worth in a trade and what will his next contract look like? The only two teams that he makes sense for are the Stars and penguins

Don’t know what the Canes would want/what Tony would want for his contract.

Has to be under 4 million and less/the same value as a 2nd in a trade.

I feel DeAngelo leaving the Canes puts him right back at square one where in 2023-2024 he wont be in the NHL anymore

The Canes to me were the perfect team for him and he should just take a discount and stay

As lets be real hes gonna sign a bridge deal with his new team do something stupid and probs get bought out

Idk if he won’t be in the NHL anymore, he’s an elite offensive defenseman. I do agree that Carolina is the perfect fit for him

I mean if Miller signs an extension on arrival you could argue it

That said NYI dont need another forward they need LD

Honestly surprised Lou wasnt the one to get McDonagh as imagine NYI beating Tampa with him as a meme revenge story

But I can also understand why

VAN could add a 1st and the isles would still decline. I would argue Dobson is more “untouchable” than Barzal, young top pair RD with elite skating ability do not grow on trees.

I bet Lou inquired , but Mcdonagh wouldn’t play for the isles.

Apparently Nashville got McDonagh to convince Forsberg to extend

AKA were committed to winning so pls come back

Lets see if it worked

As apparently not only was he not convinced but they were 1mill apart

That’s a weird strategy lol. Nashville needs to get younger and faster, Poille needs to retire.
