My take on a Puljujarvi trade

Values are all over the place, but I think a second plus a decent prospect or bottom six forward is around what gets it done. Of course I could be wrong though. It's been known to happen with frequency.

A mid 2nd and a waiver claim 4th liner(albeit a good one) for a former 4th overall pick, better than nothing I guess.

Certainly not the dream scenario for Edmonton. but I believe that's around what they get. This was my take on how Colorado (my team) could get there. Obviously it's easier for a team that already holds a decent second rounder, and I think Puljujarvi to Colorado is probably a long shot as a result. Again though, that's just my take.

Must say that I kinda like the Meyers, Newhook, Puljujarvi line on paper though.

Yeah not sure they do much better unless he's moved in a bigger deal. Think there's a decent player in Puljujarvi, just maybe isn't a fit with McDavid's speed.

The Avs should be trying hard to sign Stastny on a cheap one or two year deal to provide some center depth, he lives in Colorado so seems like a fit.

I think one of the sportsnet hockey guys reported the ask was a late second or third. The former fourth overall pick argument I think is irrelevant, or else the Habs should get the moon for former third overall pick Drouin.

I could definitely see Stastny coming back if he's willing to take a reasonable contract. It probably depends on what happens with their current players and what (if anything) they have after re-signing guys.

I saw that on Sportsnet too. My thought is at least a couple teams bid up the price. Puljujarvi has some pretty strong underlying numbers, and there is probably still some degree of a premium from draft status (although I agree it's probably not much at this point).

That wasn't my point from the "former 4th overall pick" comment but whatever.

Puljujarvi is a useful player, if that's only worth a 3rd these GMs are ****ing idiots for not already trading for him, even a late 2nd is years from ever arriving and that is if the guy makes the NHL.

That journalist is a dickbag. Straight from Holland today "I'm not going to just give him away" Oilers want a player that can help them win in return. Has nothing to do with former 4th overall, it's the fact he had 0.55PPG while be sound defensively and increased production of every line he played on whether it was McD, Drai or Nuge as center.

I'm not a fan of the writer at all. But to be fair, he was quoting pro scouts. I went with more here because I think Puljujarvi is worth more, but I don't think Edmonton is getting a great return.
