Too short term for this AAV imo, but good that the Canucks were able to keep him around and buy some FA years.

He won’t be wearing Canucks colors for much longer. This is very reminiscent of Laine’s deal.

Was thinking the same thing

I think he gets 1 more year in Vancouver and if he still doesnt take that next step is probs gonna be traded.

Good AAV, maybe a little less term than Vancouver was hoping for but this way he's a quality trade candidate should things go sour. Solid signing.

Patrik Allvin did a fine job given the situation.

But 46 points in 71 games isn't worth $6,650,000.

Especially when you're 25 and average defensively.

You realize Boeser had a down year because he was dealing with personal issues right?

Probably shouldn't wait that long if that's the case. If he doesn't take the next step then his contract will be even harder to move.

He’s worth that AAV, surprised he only got that term though, would’ve thought something like 7.5x8 would’ve made much more sense

only 3 years but it's fine. Good deal, they're lucky he didn't sign that qualifying offer

I’m not in Vancouver so I hadn’t heard any reports on the negotiations leading up to this, but as an impartial observer I’m guessing the Canucks weren’t willing to make that level of commitment. I don’t think he’s progressed in his development as much as they’d hoped after the promise he showed in his rookie year, so they’re afraid they could be stuck with a bad contract if they go too big. They’re still pretty tight against the cap, so the lower cap hit may be another reason they went short (assuming more term would have meant more AAV).

Maybe he wasn’t sure he wanted to be locked up that long either, wanting to see the direction the team is going before he signs long term. This contract gives both parties a chance to see how things shake out over the next couple of years before they make their next move.

Very moveable deal if an offer comes up and it's a solid AAV for a top 6 winger who will bounce back next year

The "Canada Tax" is real. Boeser did absolutely nothing to merit a raise in salary, yet here we are. Canadian teams need to have their cap limit adjusted since they are forced to overpay players so much. SMH

I mean his QO was 7.5, so he could've chosen to just hit the free agency or get at least that much. But he chose the more team friendly option.

Expires a UFA. I'd imagine this is Brocks last contract in Vancouver.

I was hoping for 6 years at $6.5 million, so this is good contract. If he bounces back, then it will look great. If he struggles, then he can be moved.
