Necas to Edmonton will never happen. Simple as that. The only 2 pieces that are actually worth a damn are untouchable, and so integral to the team that if one or both were traded the team would just cave in on itself. The Oilers don’t have anything outside the big 2 the Canes would trade Necas for. Adding in Raanta to an already terrible deal is just icing on the cake.

what about hyman or nuge

Neither Nuge or Hyman are the pure goal scorer that the Canes desperately need. Hyman would be so good on the Canes, but he really doesn’t fill the need of a pure goal scorer. I am sure he would flourish in the Canes system, but I have a hard time seeing Edmonton giving him up with how hard they tried to get that 8th year, and with how bad they wanted him, and I don’t know if the Canes would want to give up Necas for him. Not going to lie, I had completely forgotten that Hyman was on the Oilers.
