Lol. You are not getting top 10 pick, top line winger for Panarin these days.

I don't think he'll get traded, anyway.

But for a guy who basically averages 100 Points a Season as Ranger? And under Contract for 4 more years? He could easily fetch that return.

Detroit declines, not trading three assets to get one, especially not a winger and especially not someone over 30.

Neither Bertuzzi nor Suter are expected to be a part of your future, past this Season.

While I understand that you could trade them for Prospects, Detroit is at that point where they are looking to turn the corner from the rebuild.

Definitely a stronger argument towards trading then for ready made talent over more future projects.

He had bad playoffs, he is overpaid, he does not fit into young Red Wings roster, and these 4 years are his 32,33,34,35 years of age. That decrease his value.

Can Bertuzzi even play inside MSG without magic shot ?

They thankfully got rid of that ridiculous rule back in March. While unvaccinated opposing players could always play at MSG (asinine), unvaccinated Rangers players could now play in their own building, too.

Not sure what you mean by not past next year. Suter will probably not be back, but Bertuzzi has stated he wants to stay and I have heard nothing that Yzerman wants to get rid of him. Again talking heads say this and that, but what have you heard directly where Bertuzzi is done in Detroit?

2nd, Wings in way are ready to trade 2 very good assets and a 3rd line player for one asset. AP is a a top player but he is older than the pieces Wings giving up and has a huge cap hit that I beleive Yzerman learned not to give out unless that player is a stud defenseman or a top line Center. Wings are in search of a short term LHD and a #1 or #2 center, none of which Panarin plays. They are still 3 to 4 players a away from competing for the playoffs and the cup. They has a base and need to build smartly towards that goal, not piss it away witha 30 year old 11 million dollar winger who media reports says is unhappy., again preface it is talking heads who say that.

Value wise it is low but, to high a price for Wings.

Both Yzerman as well as Bertuzzi have publically stated that extending his contract is a top priority as soon as it's legal to do so this summer.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about.

Sounds exactly like the chatter stating that Copp was practically a lock to be resigned by the Rangers. Look how quickly that changed.

There has been just as much chatter (if not more) suggesting Bertuzzi as a trade candidate. When you're an upcoming UFA in your late 20's, you can make a solid argument for either route.

Of course both sides are going to remain cordial up until the moment where they do or don't sign a deal. Considering neither of us are in the room when both sides talk, neither of us have any real clue as to what is going on.

But that uncertainty makes it perfectly reasonable for me to make a proposal involving him. Until this new deal you are so certain of gets done, he's fair game.

Because clearing cap space for the future is way more important that winning hockey games now.

I think it works in both cases.

While clearing out the Cap crunch before it even happens is a major Win, I think the team listed above is very well rounded.

Bertuzzi reinforces the Top line. The Kid Line gets a chance to pick up the momentum from where they left off (and if they don't, you could swap Bertuzzi with one of Lafreniere or Kakko to level them out).

Suter, Blais and (hopefully) Kravtsov boost the bottom 2 lines.

It's twofold. Despite clearing Cap, they still ice a Winning team.

Panarin drives their offense and PP and is one of the best LW's in the NHL, so you lose that, which now limits them to 1 top line. A good playoffs doesn't make Chytil a legit 2C, he's not even close to that yet. He is inconsistent, terrible at face-offs and not physical at all, and when he tries to play a physical game, he usually gets hurt. I like him, but he is not 2C ready. Kravstov is also a big ??? because who knows what his attitude will be if he doesn't dress for a game or gets limited minutes, or in any way doesn't get what he wants, because he has already displayed he is an entitled spoiled kid that thinks way to much of himself. The team you have is worse offensively, has a worse PP, and a worse PK, plus Cuylee is wasted on the 4th line. IMO, trading Panarin is pennywise and pound foolish.
