OIlers need to be saving cap in a barrie trade. even though hoffman is a prolific scorer, the contract he has is something the oilers can't work with for multiple seasons. and also he is very injury prone + defensive liability. Oilers say no.

Not saying that the Oiler should do this just saying that Hoffman's contract is only 2 more years (next year and the year after) not really multiple years which implies 3+

but in those 2 years they have holloway, broberg, and bouchard due. they can't afford to have hoffman unless they dump a lot of cap this offseason. which I doubt happens.

Yeah I get that but realistically speaking I think all 3 get bridge deals or at least Broberg and Holloway. I see your point though, I was just saying the way you made it sound was Hoffman you thought Hoffman was signed long term lol.
