Thoughts?
Is a prov for Hronek equal value? Prov is a year older, not as good offensively but possibly better defensively. could both players benefit from a change of scenery?
Jiricek falling to Det makes that work, he will be the future at 2RD. Prov also gives Seider a legitimate linemate.
I doubt Det will be high on Letangs list but if they were able to bring him in, he could be the perfect partner to mold Edvinsson. Plus giving him 2nd line min can hopefully prevent the “Crosby effect” drop in production that other players seem to get leaving Pit.
I know most CGY fans on here think someone will pay for Monahan but most of the “experts” disagree. Does he cost a 2nd as a sweetener? Maybe not. Maybe a 3rd or 4th gets it done but don’t plan on getting anything substantial in return. Maybe by giving him the opportunity on a 2nd line will sway him to waive his NTC for Det..
Swap Holtby with any FA goalie, who cares, I just put a body there

Yea, it’s probably a long shot he doesn’t stay. He’ll prob test FA just to up the contract but he’s a Pit boy till retirement

Why wouldn't Philly just draft Jiricek (better than Hronek) and keep Provorov or move him after improving his stock this season. Provorov's value is too low to trade now imo Philly let's him bounceback and then move him for more.

Nahhh he likely doesn’t make it til free agency. I wouldn’t be surprised if he signed within the week

He'd want $9M+x5. Letang wants another cup. He would never agree to be a 2D. The man is a beast and showing no signs of slowing down. Plays 20+ min a night +PK & QB's PP. There is definitely a "Crosby Effect" though. He's usually the A to Sid's G.
