Description
Calgary Flames. Well I already got complaints on the Anaheim one but here’s the same trade. I was told it’ll cost a second to move Lucic. Fine but since it’s a division rival and they’re sending back a third I’d say it cancels out so it’s a 1st. Also I’m trying to keep the same trades across the board that way not everyone dumps to Arizona. I also don’t want to hear any complaints about Johnny and Matthews contracts they will both clear 9 easy. They took their team friendly deals this is their money deals. Gudbranson probably gets more too because he played decent and was playing for more. Honestly I’d say if this is the team they come back with they’ll be in good shape again. Don’t count on Markstrom playing that poorly again and don’t get caught playing another teams game.

AHL: Pelletier and Wolf lead the group the rest of the team made up of a few prospects plus a lot of ahl vets who can be called up.

Goalie:
Markstrom and Vladar no changes no need to change keep it.

Defence:
Zadorov gone as a cap casualty, Valimaki gets the chance to be a regular otherwise things stay unchanged.

Forwards:
Massive deals for Tkachuk and Johnny, Monahan is gone as is Lucic allowing Mangiapane back. Look for some of those prospects to finally make a jump.

Overall:
I think Calgary didn’t play their best hockey against Edmonton while Edmonton played their best and that led to the result it did. Keep the team intact as much as possible and try again. Oilers are gonna be in the same boat I think, keep things intact and rely on prospects to go get the role that’s available. Battle of Alberta round 2 in the playoffs? I would certainly accept that offer as the Anaheim GM.

Why would Calgary have to give up a first for a team to pay $1M of real dollars to get nearly $6 M in cap hit. Enough cap strapped teams looking to spend less but still get to salary floor (see Dallas moving Bishop contract for a 7th round pick).

If it would actually take a 1st round pick, might as well just keep Lucic.

it’s not gonna take a 1st to dump lucic, and the 3rd coming back doesn’t make it much better. it’ll probably cost a 2nd, end of story.

zary is not ready for the nhl

carpenter is terrible, he won’t be back

mackey is ahead of valimaki on the depth chart, valimaki is either traded or in the press box most likely

not sure why you’re giving any of those UFAs more than league min

There’s a 110% chance Anaheim accepts this deal
