If I were GM lmk what yall think

Created by: WJV5
Team: 2022-23 Vegas Golden Knights
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 2, 2022
Published: Jul. 2, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
New Coach, new Era.

Let me explain my trades before yall blow me up on them

Assuming Klingberg is gone, Dallas needs a top line defensemen, Vegas needs wing depth and cap space

Lehner will probably ask for a trade, and Hart’s rep in Philly seems to be dropping. Change of scenery should help both teams and netminders. Throw in the first cause of Hart’s age and ceiling

Pacioretty to replace Nino in Carolina, the 2 and 3 is for patches, Gardiner is to match salary

Kravstov for talent development and scoring depth

Patrick and Hutton could go anywhere, I just chose the rangers cause of the FA’s they have

Edmonton takes Gardiner should they get rid of Duncan Keith or should he retire

If y’all think compensation is off lmk, I don’t think I’m too far off

Flyers say no. Hart Will not be traded unless Were getting something ridiculous in return otherwise, that would be trading him for no reason.

I'd definitely make sure the 2023 1st is to 5 protected,

If Carolina can GET a 5th from EDM for Gardiner why PAY a 3rd for Vegas to take him.

Don't see Seattle giving up any picks for one year rentals.

Dallas doesn't need LHD. Six of their 7 DMen are LH.

Patrick is damaged goods. He should be done.

The Rangers probably take pick 48 for Kravtsov.

Some of this really doesn’t make sense. Hart has immensely struggled recently so why would vegas pay that much to get him and why would philly even try trading him right now.
That type of deal makes no sense for vgk to trade pacioretty, if they were to trade him it is going to prob take a good roster player with a low cap hit plus futures
martinez is a good player but for cap reasons he could be on the way out, doesn't fit what DAL needs rn
Kravtsov shouldn’t be of interest for vgk, hasn’t proven to be able to do anything yet at the NHL level
Patrick deal seems ok, vgk could prob keep him

1 thing jumped out at me right away why wouldn't carolina just take the 5 from edmonton instead of paying a 3 tovegas to take hime and flip him for a 5? illogical

Setting aside some of these other things that are definitely off in Vegas' favor, how does Gardiner earn a 3rd to take one minute and then become worth a pick in trade the next?

Def no from Dallas

Loss of klingberg made sense to me, but I forgot he’s left handed. And gurianov hasn’t produced like expected

My thought process was The 2 and 3 were for Pacioretty, Gardiner was there to match enough salary so it doesn’t kill Carolinas cap table, otherwise they may say no

The Seattle trade was cause of Driedger’s severe injury in the tournament a couple weeks ago. He supposed to miss half the year I’ve heard

And for the patches trade, the 2 and 3 were for patches and Gardiner was there to match salary so Carolina would accept.

I forgot Martinez is left handed, that’s my bad, thought it would be a good move for them to replace Klingberg and cause Gurianov could use a change of scenery

Hart threw up an .877 last year man, and this past year he put up a .905. Now yes was the defense so bad that calling it incompetent would be a compliment, yes, but Hart isn’t a proven commodity either unlike a John Gibson. The reason I dealt for Hart and not Gibson is cause Lehner has an 10 team NTC, and I could guarantee you Anaheim is on it. Philly could be, but it’s less likely imo. Not to mention Hart’s contract is cheaper. Plus Torts is well, Torts.

Even if Dallas needed LD, I still don't entertain a Martinez trade until more comes out about his recovery. As recently as March, there was a chance that the injury he sustained was considered "potentially career ending"

You think so? I was torn on kravstov or Kappo’s RFA rights, and with Patrick And Hutton, could’ve (and prob should’ve) sent him to a place like Arizona, I just thought with the potential loss of strome or Copp, and Hutton for d depth, they take a chance on them

Kappo will either sign with rangers of sign with NYR or sign an competing offer he can't refuse. The NYR salary cap disaster will not permit the to match. Kravtsov will get his shot at 3rd line RW. Hope I'm wrong but In my opinion he'll flop. Drury we'll work hard bring Andrew back into the fold (Strome has no chance - $ constraints) . #2C is the most pressing issue for the Rangers. Don't need Hutton - Either Lunqvist or Jones will be the 3rd pair LD.

Don't know what happened there. Re Patrick his price and faceoff % are attractive. his defense not so much. Centers will be: Mika - Copp - Filip - and Barclay. Barclay is who Patrick would be competing against each other. Reaves and Goodrow are Gallant's boys. Gerard would never permit it.

His numbers could be whatever. The Flyers still believe in him. Torts Mentioned in his press conference that his priority is to get this right for Carter and build structure in front of him. As well as the flyers have struggled to find a Franchise Goalie for years and Hart is our best chance at one. He won't be Traded.
