Romanov will never be half the player Dobson is. Petry has little to no value and his game seems like it is in steep decline. The idea you could trade both those guys for Dobson is so bad it’s not even funny.

Dobson clearly better rn but with the Isles having a cap crunch if they want to save money and go after Gaudreau/Forsberg, this would be a way to do it! Its not ridiculous as much as it's improbable

Romanov will likely top out as a #4 defensive defenseman. The Habs could add the #1 pick and the isles would still decline.

Romanov will probably get 2.5-3 mill on a bridge deal, add Petrys 6.25 mill AAV and that definitely would not save the isles money. Dobson will likely get 5 mill AAV on a bridge.

I’m well aware of who Romanov is. Dobson is significantly better and the Isles have no reason to move him. Not to mention, why the hell would the Isles take Perry’s $6.25m if they are trying to land a Forsberg/Gaudreau?!
