The 1st was for dach. Abruzzese and the 3rd is for Mrazek. I doubt Toronto wants to add a player the same age performing better.

"Too much for Dach?" Then doesn't send close to enough for Dach.

I'm assuming you aren't a leafs fan. That was more for them. Do the leafs want to move their first for dach is the question.

dach was a top 3 pick not that long ago. you cant just give him the bust card already. a first isn't going to cut it

The question is do the hawks move Dach for a late first. The answer is no.

Well they won't get dach with their first. Going to take a package with something Chicago would really covet in order for them to move him.

2019 was a weak draft. If dach were a bust I wouldn't be offering a first. But he is a bit of a gamble/project. Think injuries hurt his development and Chicago rushed him.

What he was saying though is the Leafs might not want to acquire Dach, and I'm sure they don't want to overpay him but in a compound deal there might be a way both sides get what they want.

That could be. Toronto probably isn't the best partner for a trade like that. I'm not sure anyone would be offering a package for dach. Maybe Chicago is best to just hold on to him.

I don't think dach is what the leafs need right now, at least not at his cost. So to answer your question I don't think the leafs should spend their first on dach, but the package to send Chicago Mrazek isn't awful.

If Toronto is going to go overpay for a guy, it should be to try and acquire Pastrnak to reunite with Nylander, convince Pasta to take a 1-yr extension on his current deal. Also, acquire Kapanen and convince him to reup on a 2-year deal at 3m (a small cut) to play with Nylander as well.

No I don't think they would want to part with what Chicago would want. If Toronto is going to spend assets I think they would be wise to spend them on players better suited to their team.

Pasta is a pipe dream. Kapanen would certainly be attainable though. Definitely other wingers leafs could target.

Only problem with pasta is if he gets shopped, the leafs will get beat in offers. They have some talented young players in the system but nothing really elite that other teams like jersey or others could offer. I honestly think they need someone to split at the centre position with Tavares. Miller comes to mind but again offers might get beat.

Dylan strome might be a reasonable target for the Leafs. If they are sending Mrazek there, might up the compensation if strome comes back. He can play centre or wing. He likely doesn't cost too much to sign, maybe 3-4M. He also has the ability to play with high end players.

I was going to say he could force his way their but saw that he only has 10-team M-NTC.

I'm kind of hoping that the Leafs land Kubalik and Strome if they don't get qualified assuming they are willing to take discounts. If not, then I would like to see DeBrincat and Strome reunited with McDavid (less of a pipe dream than Pasta+Nylander atm).

Both would be good for the Leafs. They are going to need to find some cheaper players that play above their contracts to take it to the next level.

I was hoping the leafs would go after vatrano this last season. He would have been way better than Ritchie.

I think they will go after Marchment but don't think he will come cheap or without term, so it will be a real hit or miss if Dubas decides to spend like 4m on one guy.

Only reason why Dubas went after Ritchie is because he wanted to add a guy with size that has offensive ability and he was probably the only guy left that they hoped can fit the bill on a budget deal.

Totally agree, it wasn't a bad signing at the time. He jusy didn't fit their game. He actually started to put up some what respectable numbers in Arizona.

Heres what I see for Toronto to add toughness

But before that lets see what we have rn and the holes we need to fill

RN this is the team with all the X's (All RFA's were extended in this scenario and Kerfoot, Holl, and Mrazek moved)

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
X-Tavares-X
Nylander-X-Kase
Engvall-Kampf-X

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Liligren
Giordano-Sandin

X
Kallgren

The biggest X's to fill is the starting goaltending spot and who plays with Tavares
