Whoa, slow your role boy... JP is still an awesome player, JP and any years 1st is way too much for Brown, unless we get a goalie that's ready too

Two revisions I'd require in order to get onside with that:

1.) 50% cap retention of Brown's contract (extra cap space to go all-in with as Brown is a UFA next year)
2.) Change the 3rd to Tampa's 2nd

If those two conditions are met, I could be amenable to such a deal, though I think they'd be losing quite serious value in such a trade.

Since when did Brown suddenly become this unbelievable player. He's a poor man's Lehkonen without the finishing. I've never seen a guy miss so many chances, all alone. In that instance, he's much like Puljujarvi.

Not getting Pool Party and a 1st. Especially when Brown becomes UFA and Lehkonen had cost control.

You're looking at a 2nd and Jesse at best!

How in the world can he be a poor man’s Lehkonen “without finishing” when he puts up more goals and points while playing on a worse team LOL

50 point pace every single season in Ottawa. One of the leagues leading pkers at forward. Defensively responsible, plays up and down the lineup, can play pp as well. Only a year older than Lehkonen and can be traded at only 1.8m against the cap. He’ll get a 1st.

Making up stuff isnt an argument. Lehkonen played on the 1st line in Colorado and was a catalyst.

Brown a 50 point player?!! He's never comes close. Pace is nothing. I can also say that lehkonen played at a 60 point pace in the playoffs with 14 pts in 20 playoff games. Another thing Brown has never done in the playoffs, appear! 5 pts in 20 games for Brown in his career

PP player lol

Point totals in Ottawa, 43, 35,39

Need I remind you that you’re saying he has less finish than barely produced in Montreal. “Poor man’s Lehkonen.”

Point totals in Montreal, 27, 13, 29

How am I making anything up? Brown’s produced more despite being on worse teams. If anything trying to compare playoff pace to regular season is making stuff up lol.

If you don’t like pace then we can do averages, Brown scored at 0.6ppg every year in Ottawa. The best Lehkonen ever did was 0.5 and the two seasons prior were 0.28 and 0.38ppg. You have no leg to stand on talking down on Browns production when you’re comparing him to someone who produces even less.

Again, nowhere did i say he's not worth a 1st rounder. The comparable to Lehkonen is regarding the return which I said is at best a 2nd and Puljujarvi. You proceed to then exaggerate what i said and down right lie.

Finally, proceed to go outside the scenario to say Brown at retention is worth a 1st when this trade has no retention. You are making stuff up to support your argument

Might be a little low but I actually have no problem with a 2nd at his full salary. Like I said before retaining 50% probably could’ve netted a 1st but with all the moves that have been made, his 3.6m off the books is an asset in and of itself.

Advantage Washington, they knew Dorion wanted to move done. Good on them for stepping up when Edmonton couldn’t move salary to get it done.

Trade changes nothing about what I said either lol

A 2nd round draft pick only have about a third chance of playing 100 or more games in the NHL and an equal chance of never playing a single game. What value!
