Philly

Description
Tried to layout the lines properly but may have messed them up a bit lol.

See Habs thread with same name for other side.

Also UFA LW does not have to be Kane can be any top 6 LW

Hayes and Dvorak can swap back and forth depending on who is putting up more points

The Montreal trade is not my own and I am not convinced it works anyway. Was just looking at how receptive Flyers fans would be to this idea. I did swap Lindblom with Risto since Montreal would need to reacquire a RD through FA or trade anyway and Philly wouldn't want to pay him 5 mil to play 3rd pair. Also this assumes Ellis will start the season and Philly is looking to contend since they didn't hire Torts to rebuild.

Meh.

Feel like if this deal was for a top 5 pick Philly would have to get something of use… swap Barron in for Petry and maybe they consider

You think Barron would help more now than Petry? Barron isn't quite NHL ready and Petry is a consistent 40+ point D man. I am pretty sure the Flyers would rather have Petry than Barron given they are trying to contend now rather than in 2 or 3 years. Maybe Flyers fans would rather have Barron as they want to rebuild but that's a different argument altogether lol.

Barron was the guy Philly wanted to get in the Giroux trade but G nixed the Avs. Jeff definitely could help now, but Philly wants a young RHD to fill a hole in the line up, which is what they plan on drafting… giving them a RHD who fits that role (even though Barron probably never becomes the player Jiricek does) would sweeten the pot enough to rationalize moving that pick

Just my opinion though. I like Jeff a lot, I wouldn’t hate this deal if Philly was ready to compete, but I don’t see them even making the playoffs next year with the injuries and Fedotov being detained and forced to join the army
