Marvel presents What If

Created by: mokumboi
Team: 2022-23 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 21, 2022
Published: Jul. 3, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'm not saying Gavrikov will inform Columbus that he'll test UFA next summer... I'm just asking what if. The 4th is a gift for Scandella and the rest balances out. Or not, I dunno. It all depends on Gavrikov leaning toward the exit door. If it did happen umm just get out the way.

However, I am saying Vancouver is wasting Woo for some reason.

Kyrou and Saad will sometimes swap depending on opponent. Same goes for Mikkola and Perunovich. A potential Bolduc call-up is the wildcard. Taxi squad = next man up crew.

I can't see it happening. Gavrikov loves Columbus and loves the room too.

The trade value is hard to parse. CBJ would like the 1st if there is a player they like that is available but I am not sure Barbashev fits considering they have a million shooting wingers already.

I think Gavrikov > Krug and Parayko, especially considering his age.

Yeah, the 1st is the only asset of any real interest in that package and we'd much rather have Gav.

1- I guess we shall see.

2- Except Barbashev isn't just a shooting winger (or really "a shooting winger" at all actually) and he's better than most of the ones you have. Plus, he could likely bring in another 1st or solid prospect at the deadline if they don't want to keep him. Or he could come attached with a freshly signed, I dunno, 4x4. Lots of ways to go there.

3- Heh. Alrighty.

2. He put up good numbers but he's not better than Laine or Bjorkstrand. We also have Bemstrom, Marchenko and Chinakov still coming and who need playing time.

3. You're not watching Gavrikov if you think that's not even a conversation. He put up unreal numbers on a very poorly coached D squad with barely NHL ready defenseman.

Over the last two years Gavrikov has added 2.12 WAR. Parayko 1.41 WAR, Krug .51 WAR.

Horrible for the Blues. They’d have no interest giving up a first for a 2nd/3rd pairing defensemen who’s going to be a UFA in 2023.

Bro, obviously Army will have a deal set up for him before the trade. Just like he did with Faulk.
