I would imagine it’s with retention and not a great return

I'm assuming we are looking at every C making under 5.5m, in this case retained. Mona is probably way down the list

I’ve heard the Rangers have had interest in all of Monahan, Strome, Copp, Malkin, JT Miller, Trocheck, and Kadri.

Just pick your favorite player at this point lol

If the NYR front office is smart they go for a 2-3 year rental for considerably less than $5.5M. But this in the NYR front office we are talking about, and smart is not their forte. Iv been a Blueshirt fan for 65 years, and I could regale you with horror stories for hours, but I will spare you.

Say what you want about Drury...but one thing does appear certain- he's very tight lipped about what he has going on. Reports of interest in all these players is a tactic on his part to try and get Copp and Strome to come down from their positions in terms of $ and/or term they are seeking. Not sure how close NYR are with a deal with either of these guys. Copp seems certain to be a goner at this point. Probably the same for Strome. But unless Strome gets the deal he wants- from a team he wants to play for- he might be more open to caving to Drury. And that 2 year rental mentioned above...might be Strome.

I agree. But don't tell anyone I like Andrew at $5.5M for 5 years, a tad more if we have to. I think he is a diamond on the rough. A full year centering the Breadman not to mention I think he is ready to breakout no matter who he centers for. Best Regards.

Yeah...not only is he a great fit with this team, he has a good shot at playing above his next contract. Unfortunately, due to next year's CAP, a move would be required at some point so there is one less guy to extend next year and/or more CAP to play with. One (or two of) Kakko, Miller, Goodrow, or Lindgren would probably have to be moved...don't see them parting with LaF. Of course if Kreider, Panarin, or Trouba were dealt...problem solved. I just don't see any of these guys going until 2024 at the earliest.
