Team: 2022-23 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 3, 2022
Published: Jul. 3, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. Take care of Bergy. $4.5M is slightly lower than what I project at $5Mx1 but Bergy is the kind of player to do this for his team.
2. Bring in a true power play specialist. This one won’t be popular until the season starts but he’s exactly the player the Bruins need on the back-end. (Might be more difficult, but building a package for Chychrun would be as interesting)
3. Take care of some Center Depth
4. Some cap dumps to free up salary
5. Leave enough to sign Pasta long term at $9-9.5M

I believe Lauko’s hockey hero is Marchand. While Marchy is out, give him a shot with Bergy.

Boy, the Bruins depth is pretty weak. Hopefully Sweeney has some sort of plan out of this.

You could say that better playoff coaching (still baffles why Pasta didn’t alternate lines when away and home) and losing Lindholm and McAvoy for parts of the CAR series could make the difference.

They were 2nd in points since Jan so the team, healthy is definitely good.

Smaller moves would be to trade Grze for Hague (VGK). I’d even consider a Carlo for Hague swap. When a guy doesn’t have size and adjusts, that is different than a big guy who doesn’t play tough. You can work with one (Grze has always filled in well in top 4… Bruins best option, but better suited for bottom 4)

Winnipeg isn't in a hurry to move pld and that offer gets outbid anyways. Deangelo would be a good add.

I’m sorry, but why exactly should Carolina consider? Not to mention, Carolina and Boston just don’t trade unless it is something extremely minor. You can expect the Canes to demand more from Boston in this trade.

The Jets aren't giving up Dubois for a late first a year from now, a cap dump, a no value player and and okay middle 6 winger. They get far more at the TDL in 2 years.

Reilly isn't a cap dump, but I agree. Jets definitely don't make the trade.
