Description
Ranking prospects for the Sabres, not including anyone who has played 15+ NHL games. I want to see how much I think this will change after the 2022 draft.

Tier 1 = LW -- Elite/Top level prospect
Tier 2 = C -- Top 6/Top 4 potential
Tier 3 = RW -- Bottom 6 (Ranging from Pretty Good 3rd liner to consistent ice time 4th liner) or 5-7th NHL D-man
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tier 4 = LD -- Needs to do more before an outlook can really be made
Tier 5 = RD -- Won't see NHL time in my opinion.
Tier 6 = G -- Goalie rankings

LTIR: Big dark horse prospect, boom or bust

Would like to see more from rosen. That was house money, doesn't mean it's OK to waste it.

I think Jack is really your only tier 1 and Owen & Peterka are tier 2+.
I get the arguement but the Tier 1 on the pyramid is usually reserved for only the elite special talents, like a Marner, or Crosby. or McDavid type. no even wright would make the tier 1 in this draft class.

Peterka overall is a better player than Quinn. Power is definitely a tier one prospect.

If you added Krebs and Samuelson where would they stand?

Gosh, if Power doesn’t get tier 1, I wonder what prospect dmen you’d include as tier 1?

For me, Sanderson, Power, Hughes are clearly tier 1. Edvinsson, Clarke, Morrow are probably 1/2 bubble.

As of right now, if there was only 2 spots in tier 1, I would say power and peterka.

I would say tier 2. The season ended with Samuelsson playing the left side with dahlin playing the right as our first line. So he's playing first line, although he's probably carrying a lot of the defensive responsibilities from his first overall pick linemate. I wouldn't call him a first line d in this exercise, but he's playing on the first line. Krebs flashed some fancy playmaking, and although he's tenacious getting back, it didn't show up in his defensive stats. He's definitely middle 6, only question is will it be at center or wing.

In the context of our franchise and the potential of each of those players, I would consider them all to be elite prospects. I would agree with you that Quinn is the best of the three but Peterka really impressed during the AHL playoffs so I have him 1st.

Shoot ya thanks for pointing that out, I made this a AGM a long time ago before he played this past season. No longer eligible for this pyramid due to the under 14 games requirement.

Agreed. And Peterka showed up big during playoffs while Quinn struggled. They are both very very good prospects, little separates them imo. I'm not as high on Power as most, but yes he deserves to be in the 1st tier here absolutely.

I am not arguing the 3 of them aren’t high quality or Elite and if i wrote the tiers i would do them differently than the experts! but the experts like to keep tier 1 sacred and only 3-5 prospects in the entire NHL ever make the tier 1 in their rankings and i highly doubt Buffalo has 3.
