The first trade with the Red Wings is interesting. I'm not saying it's good or bad but it is interesting.

For the 2nd trade. The Red Wings just traded Suter to the Rangers and then trade Hronek to get him back? tears of joy

Yeah, I just did that because I didn’t want to revert the trades back and forth again. I understand that looks weird, but you can just figure it as Osterle, Hronek and a 2nd, for Trouba, Gauthier, and Jones.

So what would be a fair proposal, Lundkvist + a 1st?

Horvat is pretty much an untouchable for the Canucks unless contract talks go very poorly. He’ll likely sign a long term extension. Miller will more than likely be the one who is traded

Trading Trouba is a terrible idea to begin with plus his NMC makes it very unlikely.

Trouba would go to Detroit because he’s a hometown kid, and he’d waive his no trade clause. It’s probably the only place he would do that. And as much as I like Trouba, and don’t want to trade him, he just makes too much for this team, and will hinder the future contracts of Lafreniere, Miller, Chytil, and Kakko/Schneider/Lindgren in the future.

Trouba is in NYC because that's where he wants to be. He has an NMC for two more year and then he can be traded, so that's likely when he moves on and Schneider slides into his spot.

Trouba wanted out of Canada because he feels his fiancé's career is just as important as his. He was still under contract with Winnipeg so there was no contact with him until he signed with his new team. So he is in NY because the Rangers offered up the best package not knowing if he would even resign in NY. I think Kelly is done with her residency in the spring or early summer 2024 and then it's totally plausible that he'd waive for the right situation. That being said I don't think he should be traded but with the some of the RHD prospects in the Rangers system it probably won't be long before NYR is looking to trade him and NYR could do a lot with an extra $8M.

Maybe read my post. I said after two more seasons, when his NMC is up, the Rangers will most likely trade him to make room for Schneider and for cap reasons. There is no reason he would want to leave a team that is very young, just lost in the ECF and has the best goalie in the league. Why would he want to leave that situation?

Detroit declines.

Neither Gauthier nor Jones have any value to us and we're not trading Hronek + Oesterle + 2nd for Trouba.
