scorched earth rebuild

Description
before you leave a comment about that flyers trade read the description... yes chuck fletcher is that bad of a gm that something like that isn't even unrealistic.
as far as the draft picks go:
shane wright 1 ovr- the price is wright nothing will ever convince me otherwise
David Jiricek 5 ovr- the kraken are for sure gonna nab nemec and jiricek is the concensus second best option. if nemec is still around id pick him in a heartbeat.
Frank Nazar 13 ovr- this one is a bit of a reach he definitely should go top ten but we all know what happens to short kings in the draft. this one is a daydream for me
Miro 18 ovr- boom or bust right here but i want to believe in him because why not. after picking up shane and nazar and jiricek alredy they can afford a risk like this.

okay okay okay hear me out... chuck fletcher is a bad general manager, look at the trades he makes and the contracts he sighs. when he says to the media that he plans to be aggressive and wants to compete something like this isnt so so crazy is it? taking on the full JVR deal means philly actually only gains 1.5 mil in salary here and it just seems like a philly thing to do. I KNOW THE TRADE IS UNFAIR.

Islanders never take this. Whether or not the players are good is debatable, but the islanders highly value both martin and clutter. They dont want to lose them, and can shed cap space much more efficiently.

Why bother doing a scorched earth rebuild? If these players all have that kind of value, Montreal should be winning the next 5 Stanley Cups.

I understand the "Fletcher is an awful GM" thing, but he's already said that the 5th OVR pick won't be traded unless it's for a young impact player. So he still doesn't do that trade

Lol cmon man that isles trade is unrealistic. Poehling and Schuenemen are somehow both significantly worse than clutterbuck and Martin

Matt Martin and Cal Clutterbuck are still serviceable and buried carry a combined $1m cap hit. Cal Clutterbuck is one of the Islanders' best penalty killers and continues to be one of the league's better hitters and agitators. Richard Panik costs the Islanders a measly $250K.

The Islanders would not waste the draft picks.

This is my thought for almost every mtl AGM!! If Anderson and petry and Allen and Dvorak and Hoffman and armia and evans are all worth so much then why do they suck?
