Sorry, but once again, Canes have no interest in Muzzin. We already made the mistake signing another Leafs defenseman reject.

Muzzin's alot better than Gardiner, and who could of predicted his injury?

I'd trade Muzzin if possible, so it's Rielly-Brodie, Mc-Sandin, Gio-Lily

Hmm, Gardiner had a history of injuries, so I think everyone could have predicted it. Muzzin may be better than Gardiner, but he is also more expensive than Gards and the Canes can’t afford him. 5mil is way too expensive to spend on what would be a 3rd pairing dman in Carolina.

Gardiner was signed to be the Canes 2LD in 2019. The Canes proceeded to trade for Skjei halfway through that season, and Skjei has been the Canes 2LD ever since.

We also both know that the Leafs can’t afford to retain on Muzzin. Not to mention it would also be a completely worthless move if Gardiner can’t be moved. The likely scenario is going to be the pairing gets elevated from Chicago, assuming Gards gets moved.

What I'm saying is that if Gardiner has a history of injuries why would a great GM in Waddell sign him to a 4 year deal?

That is a great question. Maybe you should ask him. I know the Canes needed a puck moving dman at the time, and I know this is incredibly unrealistic, but maybe Waddell went and tried to galaxy brain it and predicted Gards would suffer a massive injury. That is probably the only stain on his resume so far with Carolina.

Columbus still has no want or need for another middle 6 forward.

The back injury was an ongoing thing when leafs let him walk. I was shocked when canes upped him at the same pay. Wish he could have got healthy. He deserved better.

One.
THOUSAND.
Days.

More than that, even.

That is how long Kerfoot-to-Jackets trades have been auto-rejected. There are no excuses anymore.

No that's the value Nashville gave to Tampa for McDonagh. I'm highlighting it from TO's perspective
