Los angeles trade would be ideal for cbj, they may have to give up a little more though even though LAK still has surplus RD
The price is high on strome but is the type of player cbj needs for the t6
CBJ would be better not doing the MTL deal
even with the RS, wouldn’t expect that much for nyquist and def not from anh as they won’t value RS as much as other teams around the league
bean trade is fine value

that's what i figured the response would be, but I'd be willing to use Texier to try and get em to budge. Maybe would've worked with Bergevin but not anymore

When you construct trades with other teams, you have to know something about them.

Matt Roy is a proven-quality #2 RD, and filled in admirably for Drew Doughty the entire second half of the season at #1 LD.

We have 8 good young forwards looking for playing time in our middle 6, so a kid who has been through three training camps and hasn't stuck in the NHL yet isn't on our wish list.

what would your ideal substitute be then? Retained Nyquist for veteran middle 6 producing 50 points?

some people are saying it's too much but considering he has other interest I'd like to give a safe but not dangerous offer. Don't think we can scam you a 4th time

Yeah it probably is a little high but you raise a good point, if there are 4-5 teams chasing a guy who can play 2C then you gotta pay something and this does it. I mean about time we got a little win over CBJ when it comes to a trade.

Love the Roy trade, though he might cost a tad bit more. Love the draft picks, Kasper and Juricik would be amazing picks for us.

The rest is kinda whatever to me. I could take them or leave them.

I have to agree with the dude saying you don’t seem to know much about the other teams in these trades. Anaheim isn’t competing right now, so a 32 year old forward isn’t attractive.

Also, their issue is reaching the cap minimum, so taking on retained salary contracts is the opposite of the intention of Anaheim GM Verbeek that he openly stated to the media

Imo an overpay for Strome considering we don't know what his production will be like away from Kane. I love Laine and Voracek, but neither can do offense to the degree of Kane. Also the draft has quite a high level of players through #50 so I'd like as many of those picks as we an get. I think we can look for Foudy + Tex or some level of prospects to steer him out if we are going that route.

Lines wise we are better off trading Rosy if we're going to put him on the 3rd line and back to wing after what he's accomplished in his transition to center, but I can see just swapping Boone to the wing Bjorky with Marchenko and that's a great second line. Also Danforth>Robinson.

Guhle definitely has jam, but I'm not sure he particularly fits with what CBJ are going for on the back end.

I like the idea of acquiring a King's RD but it's tricky because we have Blanks and Ceulemans on the way so you have to acquire a player who will likely be here for a couple of years. I'd rather move more roster players than 2022 2nds, for reasons stated above, but hard to give the Kings anything considering their prospect pool.

Nyquist to Anaheim isn't bad. You can't build a competitive team without players who play the right way on the ice and are leaders in the locker room. He might not be the perfect fit but it's naive to write him off just because he's 32. Maybe they just look for him in FA next year though.

The Roy trade is an instant "yes plz no takebacks", but I'd be incredibly shocked if LA approves it.
The Bean trade is meh, but okay.
Friends Don't Let Friends Acquire Stromes. We don't have the kind of superstar winger he'd need to be able to produce, and even if we did we'd get better results from someone like Roslovic alongside same.
The Ghule trade makes no sense to me. Not interested at all in moving Tex.
The Nyquist trade is completely unnecessary; he's a great mentor for the kids here and we're not in cap trouble.

Neither Los Angeles nor Anaheim is interested in Nyquist, because both teams are going in the opposite direction from adding a veteran.

The Kings won't be trading Matt Roy, period.
