Good value on the compher trade for arz, would like to see a team trying to take the next step acquire him such as NJ who have a little cap flexibility bc he’s a fwd who is very responsible in his own end

i don’t see AZ moving moser or any of their young guys right now. trading for a pending UFA like compher isn’t a rebuild move

I agree he'd be a good guy for the likes of NJ to acquire but most NJ fans (on here at least) seem to dislike him.

Too much to give up for one season of Miller (I know you have him as re-signing, but even so you're only trading for one year of him, an extension would likely come later). Copp & Vatrano will cost more. Husso probably as well.

Don't think Girard is the type of dman VAN is looking for.

Funny cuz I think that's an underpayment, purely off Girard being the piece. He's not what we want, so he'd not retain the right amount of value. We'd definitely want a kid.

Yup. Canucks don't need smaller-sized LHD, already got that in Hughes and Rathbone.

Otherwise, the value is spot on. If Girard was a younger EJ, this trade would be perfect IMO.

Grossly underpaying Lehky, slightly underpaying Nichushkin, and I don't see why you'd want Husso over Kuemper. A cup champ will always spend to the cap

I think rather than an underpayment (it most certainly isn't) it's a case of you looking at him as a piece who doesn't fit your needs which is fair in itself and also another reason it wouldn't work. I know some will say 'well you can trade him or someone else to make room for him' but we all know it rarely works that way in reality. I'm not opposed to trading Girard, he and Compher are probably the two most obvious guys for the Avs to move, but for the Avs to maximise the return it also needs to be the right fit. When you say 'kid' I presume you mean a prospect because you aren't going to get too many NHL ready D men younger than Girard (and Byram would be out of the question as a gross overpay).

Yeah that is what I meant. He wouldn't hold the right value in this trade, here. And definitely. Unless the Canucks were moving Hughes to NJ (which never is going to happen I hope)

Yeah Miller 1 for 1 on Byram, even with Miller having 50% retained and signed for 2 more years not 1. Still underpaying xD Byram showed he's a ****en monster in the finals.

Van isn’t interested in girard and even if they were that’s not enough to get miller.
