Seriously, why would Buffalo trade one of the top defensive forwards in the NHL, who makes 825k a year and can play all 3 forward positions up and down the lineup and has RFA control and is 24 years old?

It would take something massive, more than Tampa traded for goodrow

Add in the fact that Asplund is one of Granato's most trusted and favorite players - while Asplund may not have as much value to other teams, he's an underrated key piece of the Sabres roster for the moment.

I don't think there would be much interest in moving him. He is a defensive forward, which I'm sure you knew, and the Sabres top 9 has 3 young centers and besides tuch, wingers that are very young or primarily offensive players. Asplund may not score big, but he could be a glue player on a team hoping to take a step.

Easily a Brandon Hagel return, not that he’s worth it. But if you want him, ur going to have to pay a lot

Even if Colorado offered 2 inevitably late first round picks for him I would be hesitant to accept it. The odds of finding another player like him with either of those two picks aren’t that high, and you have to wait for that player to develop which means you’re waiting even longer for Buffalo’s competitive window.

Asplund sat behind Milano and practically let him have the netfront while Zegras lobbed the puck over the net lmao

Well I guess he should just quit the sport because of one play one time.
