Blues youth stays

Created by: STL9992
Team: 2022-23 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 4, 2022
Published: Jul. 4, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Jarnkrok is a solid 4th line player his worst season in the plus minus came this past year but on a new Seattle team.

Anthanasiou has never been on a solid team so I think he would like to go to a contender and we could see him put up 40 points as he hit 54 on a terrible Detroit team a few years ago.

Torpchenko is out until December so once he is back the 4th line will be changing to who ever is playing better. I believe the blues D is actually better than most people believe and that is because of what they were able to accomplish against the Avs in round 2. If binnington doesn’t go down the blues win that series in 6.

Buldoc is a question for me but I think he should be getting the time like they did with Thomas and neighbors will be ready and if he struggles you have guys you can switch in and out for him depending on his play and matchups.

Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Barbashev, Ivan
  2. Kostin, Klim
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
Rangers are set at D for a while with Fox, Trouba, Miller. This trade gives them Barbs for a good cap hit and bottom 6 role that can produce and move up if needed to top 6 role. Kostin could use change in scenery.
2.
STL
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse [RFA Rights]
  2. 2024 4th round pick (EDM)
EDM
  1. Husso, Ville
  2. Scandella, Marco
Additional Details:
Saw this possibility and didn’t mind it with Husso for Jesse, added scandella because he needs to be moved and so think he’s worth a 4th round pick.

Husso is a UFA in about a week, and Scandella is about as close to a cap dump as you can get. Holland has done some weird stuff over the years, but trading a solid player for the UFA rights to a goalie that you can get for free in a week seems like a major bogey.

I dont think Puljujarvi and Athanasiou would be brought in to be 4th liners. Also you only have 1 dressed goalie

Even as a Ranger fan, I don't think Lundkvist is worth that much.

Overpay on the first one, and it doesn't even solve a need. And we ate not paying Anasthasiou all that to be a 4th liner.

If the oilers want Husso and a week to negotiate with him with no other teams able too it would work. Jesse is underperforming even after playing with mcdavid his stats aren’t that good

Perron costs more to other teams but he loves it in StLouis he’s at the end of his career he could take a discount if it meant freeing space up for one more cup

As I stated in the description I don’t think our D is in bad shape I think more back end speed is what we need with more offensive production. Anasthasiou doesn’t have to be a 4th liner either he could easily be 3rd but really in that lineup which line is considered 1,2,3. Thomas line was 1 last season in my opinion.

Maroon had better seasons in Edmonton than the guy you’re defending right now….

Yes Maroon was the best line mate McDavid ever had. and he has had more than 50 line mates. Things just clicked with them.
It goes to show that McDavids wingers dont have to be fast. They just have to figure out where to be on the ice.
