So Brown and Puljujärvi have almost the exact same stats and Puljujärvi is statically better than Brown. Yet Puljujärvi is valued by you as a 3rd and whats Browns value?? Even up for Dumba lol

Leafs decline, most likely not spending assets on Murray even with retention. Mrazek is going to cost at least a 3rd and a prospect to get rid of, won’t be much different with that Murray contract.

If it's gonna cost the leafs to move mrazek, it's going to cost the sens just as much to move murray, no matter how much the sens retain

Honestly the Wild just really would never make that kind of trade. That move would be if they were still making a run and needed depth guys. If Dumba goes it’s gonna be for a pick or prospect. Not a guy entering contract year

How is Puljujarvi statistically better than Brown? Brown played less games, had more points and didn’t play 60% of his season with McDavid

I agree... from what I've read brown could get a 1st where jp looks to be getting a 3rd so I think most if the league agrees

Lol is this a serious question. Brown played one less game.
Puljujarvi gp 65 14 goals, 22 assists and plus 22. Had covid and never recovered the back half of the season.
Brown 64 games10 goals 229 assist and minus 15.

Just because people play with McDavid is not an automatic. Look at all the wingers that have played with McDavid and have failed. Maroon, Draisaitl and Kane were great. The rest including Nuge were a fail.
Puljujarvi makes his line mates better, even McDavid. Stats dont lie.

Not only was Jesse Puljujarvi, as mentioned above, one of the best at suppressing shot attempts and goals, he was also among the best in the entire league. Of 171 NHL forwards who played as many 5×5 minutes as Puljujarvi, only two players allowed fewer goals while on the ice: Corey Perry and Yakov Trenin.

Here are some more of his underlying numbers, and how they rank among the aforementioned 171 players:

CF/60 – 1st
CA/60 – 29th
SCF/60 – 23rd
SCA/60 – 128th
GF/60 – 55th
GA/60 – 9th
xGF/60 – 5th
xGA/60 – 69th

Lol a 3rd. Oilers will not even trade him for a 2nd, let alone picks. They are in win now mode and want a good player in return.

Connor Brown also played 4 minutes a night more for Ottawa than Jesse. 20 minutes vs 16 minutes.
So who played more hockey this year? Jesse or COnnor Brown???

Before people claim this is the McDavid effect; Puljujarvi with McDavid: 62% goal share, 63% expected goal share: Puljujarvi without McDavid: 58% GF%, 53 xGF%. McDavid without Puljujarvi: 54 GF%, 55 xGF%. Both players are superb together, both perform well w/o each other too.

That is a very long winded way of saying you’re right, Brown did have better stats last year

Brown had more assists.
Thats it.
Nothing more.
Every other category is worse.

And time on ice is won by Brown as well. Played almost 200 minutes more. Which is a lot.
Similar time on ice to Nuge
