Incoming that one Flames fan to tell you that Sean Monahan is worth 2 1sts, a roster player, and a blue chip prospect. His injury history and production over the past three years, combined with CGYs cap issues, should never have any effect on his market price. /s

Flames pass, not particularly interested in Bjork. Also Monahan is not a 4th line center

Nobody expects you to be interested in Björk. We expect you to be interested in clearing cap space so you can re-sign Tkachuk and Gaudreau.

What would your plan for Peterka be? Would you want him another full-year in Rochester or are you thinking he's a 1st call up that likely sticks around in the NHL for the remainder of the season?

We can move Lucic instead to do that

He will be first call up in this scenario and likely plays 35-45 games

Why would Mangiapane need to be moved in either situation?

Well Calgary has about $27 million in cap space. They have to sign I think four defenders, And 4 more forwards in addition to Tkachuk and Gaudreau. if both guys sign for $11 million, which I think is optimistic for Calgary, Mangiapane probably gets at least $5.5 or $6 million on his next contract. Of course you can’t just spend to the cap and not have money for call ups in case of injury. I doubt anyone will simply take the entire Lucic contract without sending a bad contract back. The same goes for Monahan, unless they take such a loss on the return that there’s no reason to take a contract too. Could they keep all of them? Maybe, but I don’t think it would be easy.

Your math sucks. Neither of Johnny or Tkachuk is getting close to 11M. Its already been reported that Johnny was offered 9.5M. and Tkachuk isn't going to get more than him.

Mangiapane will get at most 5.5M, certainly bot 6M. No chance he gets more than Buchnevich, probably gets closer to Rust.

Kylington will be cheap, 2.5M max

Why would Calgary have to take a contract back from Lucic? Give Ottawa or Seattle a 2nd and he's gone completely.

Monahan isn't a negative value asset if he needs to be moved he should get at least the same as Schmidt

I’m pretty confident that both Tkachuk and Gaudreau could get $11 or $12 million on the open market, both guys scored over 100 points last season. Since Matt is an RFA you might get away with $10 million if he wants to stay more than he wants a pay day. Either of them signing for less than $10 million a year is a huge win for Calgary, i’m not counting on that. Calgary is going to have to move some money around in order to make it work either way. Moving guys that have no trade clauses could be a problem if they aren’t interested in going to the teams that have the cap space.

Tkachuk is never hitting the open market and 11M for Gaudreau in Jersey for example is the exact same as 9.5M in Calgary.

Moving Lucic isn't hard, he's 35, not chasing a cup and just got his last signing bonus. He is only owed 850k in actual cash, plus he has already waived his NTC twice and probably doesn't even have Seattle blocked

Impressive, you overpaid literally everyone but Gaudreau. No wonder you ran put of cap space so quickly

I came very close to your rose colored glasses guesses from up above on every player

Go ahead, make an AGM. Put your money where your mouth is

When it comes to posts about the Sabres i generally respect your opinions at the end of the day. I would have thought that with the amount of times we've talked on here you would have some respect for my knowledge on the Flames. I do not believe I am wearing rose colored glasses at all here. I am often very hesitant to form an opinion without doing ample research beforehand

I posted an ACGM last night that is essentially what I expect the Flames roster to be next year + 1 very minor trade. You can check my history for that
