MAF 2 years 4 mil AAV sounds about right. Dubie can then sign Comrie for 1 mil to be a backup G. Get MAF and Comrie for what you'd have to pay Campbell.

And why is Muzzin waiving his NTC for Ottawa?

I think that is still quite a bit less than Fleury would be willing to take.

I think 2-year he would be looking at about $3.5M-$4M

I also doubt he is willing to take less to play here considering he is Quebecois. Willing to play in Toronto and wanting to play in Toronto are two completely different things.

For comparison, these are some similar goalie signings:

Marty Brodeur - 2012 - Age 40 - 2 year @ 7.5% of cap ($6.2M today)
Ryan Miller - 2017 - Age 36 - 2 year @ 2.67% of cap ($2.2M today)
Tim Thomas - 2013 - Age 39 - 1 year @ 3.89% of cap ($3.2M today)
Henrik Lundqvist - 2020 - Age 39 - 1 year @ 1.84% of cap ($1.5M today)
Pekka Rinne - 2018 - Age 35 - 2 year @ 6.29% of cap ($5.2M today)

Henrik Lundqvist is the outlier in my opinion, but it can be explained by taking a bit less to stay in NY for his final season.

I can live with 2 years at $3.5M. Gives TOR a chance to bring a young goalie up to learn from MAF.

NSH could add ten more vet defensemen today, and Leafs fans would still be proposing Holl to NSH for a 4th tomorrow.

Cause he's a good guy and a team guy who only wants the best for the Leafs (I assume is the thought here)

Same with Pens fans. "Pettersson to Detroit for a 3rd."

Makes sense. On opening night Muzzin could rip off his jersey and show off his Dion Phaneuf Sens jersey as he starts yelling at Sens fans. "NSO! New Sens Order 4 Life! Until we move to Quebec!" Then it's "NNO! New Nords Order 4 Life!" I'm sure Hollywood Hogan can send him some black hair dye.
