Paying Joseph and Norris the same contract is really funny

Thompson feels like a player that the Senators would love to have: Big dude who can score. However, as I mentioned in the other ACGM, I think that price is a little too steep for him, even if the team is dumping Murray with him. Plus idk if Thompson would be able to keep the same scroing pace he had last season. So I would maybe trade the 2nd round pick and a Kleven or Crookshank for Thompson

Thompson is a young, cost controlled high impact top 6 player. Def worth more than a 2nd and B level prospect... May not be worth # 7 OA, but I think very close

Thompson had a similar year to Norris this past season, would you trade Norris for a 2nd and a B prospect?

The only reason I'm more inclined to value him more towards a 2nd and a B level prospect is because, he has not done it consistently, like before this season, he has played 144 NHL games, and had only 18 goals and 35 points, then suddenly blew up this season and had 38 goals. Yes, he is still 24 years old and who knows, he may be become better, but maybe this season was a fluke, hence why I wouldn't pay a first rounder on him just yet, especially a 7OA

No, and I see your point, but the difference between Norris and Thompson is, Norris proved it since he entered in the NHL right away that he was going to be good, Thompson, had a rocky start to his NHL career, and many people were writing him as a bust even

I understand your point, I've never been a thompson fan. That said, if an offer of a second and a B prospect came in for thompson, i don't think Adams would even bother saying no before hanging up. He's a 6'7" center that just scored 38 goals. There is no chance he's available for that.

Which is largely irrelevant because he proved himself this year. The Sabres have zero reason to trade him so they simply won't.
