For a team about to enter a long multi-year rebuild, the upside with Wright and Slafkovsky would be more than enough for 2-years of guaranteed control of any winger.

You missed what I was saying. None of the first rounders have a projected upside to be even a perennial all-star or franchise level player. They have projections to be first liners as Pronman points out, but why in the world would you trade an elite level franchise all-star player for a chance to get a 1st liner???...absolutely moronic to think that makes sense. Bird in hand is always worth more then rolling the dice to a the narrowest chance get a replacement and more likely a worse player.
