They aren’t burying Matt Martin lol. And honestly Ryan Reaves fetched a third round pick so someone may take him off Isles hands anyway lol.

If Varlamov doesnt immediately shoot down the trade Id be interested to work it out. I think theres a 0% chance he waives for Buffalo though

Also I don’t think Arizona would trade for Bailey, but I get where you are coming from. Might make more sense to proposer a Bailey for Dillon/Schmidt or Bailey for Reilly trade imo.

people still havent caught on that reports and Holland have been very clear he is not moving JP for picks. he want a piece that can impact the roster right now, not picks that have a 20-30% chance of panning out into something close to NHL calibre

Yeah I agree. I think his No Trade List will be specifically tailored so that we can’t move him this off season lol.

Holland should trade Puljujvari for Marino lol. I could c both teams doing it and I would love to see Marino’s face after the trade.

he's a solid dman why not lol. all jokes aside, need something actually tangible in a JP trade. No matter what the deal is, oilers probablylose it so, better at least get something for the roster

at least thats something. but that'd depend on what else is out there and Mayfield cap hit. But that's at least pushing in the right direction

Getting that’s real one for one is probably all Lou would offer, but it’s something I would consider based on Pujulvari’s age. I’m just not sold on his upside tbh.

I could see that with Holland

"What you thought I'd get Varlamov for free"

Fits his narrative just like the keith trade last year

I think they r on his list. I think there will be a significant amount of push back from Soroky if the isles trade Varly unless they find him a new Russian friend. One of the main reasons I’d be so interested in acquiring Nichushkin this off season since they played together in the KHL. I’d also be ok with Zadarov and Lyubushkin depending on the cost of signing them.

Varly can still play lol. And Keith was less bad than I thought he would be in the post season lol.

Z would be the perfect Islander. He needs a team that values physicality.

I always liked the idea of Zadarov and it seems like he put it all together in Calgary. Also I think signing multiple Russians is the way to get the most out of them. It’s like fighting fire with fire lol.

Burakovsky is, for all purposes, Russian.

I don’t disagree but I think a guy like Varly probably formulated his opinion on the Sabres and the city of Buffalo years ago. I’m not saying it’s accurate or fair, but I’m willing to bet he wouldn’t go there. Buffalo is a great city with great fans but idk that Varly would be willing to even consider the idea.

Entire team should take Russian lessons to make Soroky feel welcome lmao. Do what the nice goalie wants you to do.
