Any possible excuse for the Jackets taking on Kassian vanished when the Olivier trade happened. It's done. Move on.

Honestly, maybe. However for the added piece of a 2nd, I really can't see Columbus saying no either. Completely forgot about the Olivier trade

Read the sharks trade. The news circulating right now is Kane may end up having his Sharks deal restored. That's 50% of Kanes old deal, should it be restored, and thus, traded back to edmonton

The Jackets have too many forwards as is, so saying "no" is not only possible, it's expected.

Kane only has 3 years left on his deal for one. 2 a team, like Carolina, would easily do that trade with no cap dumps. Edmonton will have to eat all of his deal with a cap dump or no cap dumps.

I have DeAngelo getting around 5.5-6M. Barrie really isn't the worst option to stick with Slavin. He's still a good offensive guy

Yeah I’ll take tda at 5.5 over Barrie at 4.5

Couldn't remember if it was 3 or 4. Also, while possible, I completely doubt it. Oilers are paying big to get a guy the Sharks don't want, and if I remember correctly there was a clause in place. There's no reason to not expect Kane back in Edmonton if his deal is restored

LOL nothing in that trade is big. A 4LW that you overpaid for and and 3RW that was a 4RW during the playoffs. Lavoie has value but so does Reimer. Nothing big is here.

Kane would have to accept the trade, which is it already reported he has no interest in them long term.

Term would be 3 years. Kane would go back to Edmonton in a heart beat for that.

You are severely underrating Puljujarvi. His playoffs shouldn't dictate his play. Puljujarvi was amazing in the analytics department driving offense and defense. He's a good player, just hasn't found his scoring touch yet. Foegele is in the deal to make the money work.

Reimer has value yes, but not a crazy amount. He's a pending UFA and the odd goalie out in SJ. Kane again, the value really isn't all that high because the sharks really would want nothing to do with him at all. Would likely take the first offer, that being Edmonton.

Pulj's execution underrate and stats overrate Pulj without my help. offense has died on his stick for some time now.

Kane has the power to control where he wants to go if SJ can find a suitor. Kane isnt the one that wants to leave SJ, it is SJ that wants him to leave. Most everyone would choose to stay in sunny SJ than Edmonton 10 times out of 10.

Yes but a player won't stay on a team with no chance of winning (SJ), and where his team hates him. He wants to win, he's already said he liked Edmonton, and wouldn't pass down the chance to be playing with McDavid again. There is literally no reason for him to NOT want that deal to go through

Sharks might accept if the retention on Kane is changed to 0. If not, oilers would have to add significantly

As do I, but any deal involving Georgiev will be one. Team's for some reason value him super highly
