OTT is not taking Kassian, they have Watson on the roster as well and young guy Kelley who plays a tough guy role as well.

They are only reporting that because DJ Smith knows Kassian and likes him, that doesn't mean the team is actually looking into it. The talks between Dorian and the Oilers have been more about the Oilers trying to get Brown out of OTT.

The Islanders RHD: Pulock, Dobson, Mayfield, (minors) Hutton, Wilde, Ladue
The Islanders LHD: Pelech, Salo (AHL) Bolduc

So why are they trading for Barrie again? And trading a LHD prospect for him no less

I would wager TO would rather give up a prospect for Pulli instead of a good roster player.

Yeah I would have to agree, but from what I've seen Edmonton wants a roster player in return that can have an immediate impact

as bad a GM as you might think he is, again there’s literally no place for him in the roster unless he can play the left side, which he’s never consistently done in his career. lou generally doesn’t make nonsensical moves like this. he’ll overpay for mediocre guys, but he overpays for guys that actually fill positions of need.

Lou wouldn't want Barrie, he would want a big bruising guy who shaves

he was key piece on the notorious fourth line before leaving, and a fan favorite player. i actually really like tyson barrie and he’s clearly one of the most well liked guys in the league. i just fail to see where he fits on the roster unless he’s going to play on his off side and that’s why lou won’t make this deal.

I think Lou wouldn't make the deal because he wants defence first guys and pretty much that's it. Barrie is a defence never type of player.

disagree, lou said explicitly that they needed more offense from the backend at his end of year presser. if barrie was a lefty i could see him having interest but it just doesn’t make sense since he’s a righty.

That was a Dubas move, Lou was the smart one to sign Zaitsev and Marleau.
