Reports are plenty of interest in Burns throughout the league, so we will pass on paying the 11th to gift him to you.

He’s not Tyler Myers, he provides positive value on the ice and brings points

Why exactly are the sharks moving down here to acquire a lower level of player?

You're gonna be kicking yourself later this week when Tyler Myers gets traded for a 3rd round pick

idk look at the Mcdonagh trade, which to me was the template for this. Hes younger and a better defender and it was basically a cap dump trade for him too. Cap space is king in a cap flat world.

Maybe, but the sharks can retain 2 mil and it’s the same cost for 50 points and a powerplay quarterback. We aren’t paying an insane cost to be rid of him that’s for sure.

Not sure the goal of this AGM. Why sell Hughes for below market value? Why aquire burns?

Only trade on here that makes sense is the Miller one

D-core is brutal and you didn’t even finish filling out the roster.

Seems very half baked

I think Dallas should have interest in Burns.

SJ would have to take cap back tho

Yeah maybe but that’s fine, as long as it doesn’t cost us one of our best assets to move

but really the point was to get two top 11 picks. if the window to contend is 2-3 yrs from now having Cooley and one of the premium LHD in the draft on ELCs then will makes sense to me . Like i said in the notes replicate Hughes production in the aggregate with burns, rathbone and Smith. Add Walsh to the trade whatever was just interested in getting the bones of this team together.

Hughes is more than just points and relying on players like smith or Rathbone who are huge question marks to replace a top 10 offensive D-man who also has very good two way instincts is recipe for failure.
