Sabres aren’t trading their 1C for a winger.
Especially one with 2 years left till UFA.

Fortunately, the Kevin Fiala signing has now made all Jake-Muzzin-to-Los-Angeles trades impossible. Pretty soon they should die out, as even Toronto fans will eventually get the numerical message.

Current roster:
10 forwards = $37.8 million
4 defenders = $17.5 million (Doughty, Roy, Walker, Spence)
2 goalies = $10.8 million
dead cap = $2 million
Subtotal = $68.1 million
Kempe = $5.25 million or more
Grundstrom = $1 million or more
Vilardi = $1 million or less
Turcotte, or other promotion from Ontario = < $1 million
Anderson = $2.5 million or more
Durzi = $1.5 million
Total = $80.35 million or more
Amount remaining for one LD = less than $2.15 million
Muzzin doesn't fit, even at 50% retention
And the idea that we would send your new #2 LW back for him is just insane -- the fact that you have Moore pencilled in at #3 RW just proves you have no idea how well he played this past season

Since when is nylander even worth Thompson, Thompson had one good year and all of sudden he’s just worth him and a third. And we’re also trading kase. That’s an overpayment

So LA trades their best value contract and a 50 point player with a 3rd for an old, expensive and declining defenseman? And San Jose trades a tandem goalie and a 3rd for a 13th forward, a defenseman who won't crack their lineup and a goalie who is likely not even QO?

San Jose fans will tell you that Kahkonen is worth more than all of that alone. People have made better offers for him on here that they shot down, that’s a lowball offer in comparison. Not even going to address the Tage Thompson trade, everybody else has that covered here.

engvall who will most likely sign a discount deal shouldn't be traded espicially not to receive little and 4th the other way, to pay out mrazek most likely need to give a 3rd and 5th instead.

Sharks won't trade a goalie that will be starter within next 2 years and a 3rd for fringe nhl players and a low prospect

LA won't trade a top 6 foward on a good deal with a 3rd for a washed over paid veteran D

The Devils trade actually makes sense for both teams, probably thrown in a conditional pick if campbell don't sign like a 6th or something.

The sabres trade is fair value, it just doesn't make sense for sabres to do it

Terriblle value for teams not named Leafs.(except for maybe the Jersey trade). Though why are Leaf fans like lemmings and keep on repeating there nonsensical "Campbell rights" in a trade.
Obviously you don't understand Little's value to Arizona, and then you except them to take on 8m of Mrazek's of salary.

Arizona has no money and lots of cap space so Little on LTIR is of no real use to them now.
Mzarek on the other hand is cheaper overall, and at least they can use him. Leafs shed the contract and put Little on LTIR. Similar to Weber for Dadonov deal (in my opinion anyway).

Wrong. Little on LTIR can be used for cap space, and it costs them very few actual $$$$ as his contract is insured, why is why Arizona traded for him. Mrazrek actually costs the in real $$$ 8m over two years.
Sorry you don't know the reason why the Weber/Dadonov was beneficial for both teams. Wasn't at all like the proposed Mrzarek deal post.

Easy no from SJ. Not a single piece of that is remotely valuable to the Sharks AND you're making SJ add a 3rd? No shot.

-San Jose declines before you even get to the part where they're adding a 3rd to Kahkonen to get back that pile of nothing.

-Arizona declines for the reasons listed above me in this thread - Bryan Little gives them 2x$5.3M of cap hit while only costing $4.75M this year and $3.75M next year (so a little more than $2M in real money saved before you even get to insurance); Mrazek actually costs more in real dollars ($4.4M/$4.2M) than the last 2 years of his $3.8M hit. Throwing in a pair of RFA rights isn't going to move the needle for them.

-Trevor Moore basically put up Alex Kerfoot numbers at half the price. Why would LA trade a guy like that to take on an extra $2M+ in cap for an LD2 when they can re-sign Olli Maata or someone similar and keep Moore? And that's before you get to Muzzin's NTC.

-I don't think Jersey bites - they liked Bastian enough to snatch him back from the Kraken after they picked him in the expansion draft, and throwing in Jack Campbell's UFA rights isn't a needle-mover - they can just wait a week and get him then if they really want.

-Buffalo says no. Thompson is younger and has more team control left through his RFA rights than Nylander. Kase isn't really any sort of draw and having the Sabres add an early 3rd makes this an easy pass for them.

Your hero Dubas has "Great Faith" in Mrazek bouncing back in toronto. IE .. I cant trade him for a pile of beans so i'm stuck with the mistake I made
