I would rather pay you Ryan Reaves salary to keep him out of the NHL

Never going to pry Miller away without including a top-4 RHD or a young RHD who looks like he's going to play top-4 minutes.

Two of those are LHD and the other is a 5'10 offensive defenceman - which we have on the left-hand side.

The truth is every deal starts at Schneider and above on your depth chart for Miller - which is entirely the reason the deal hasn't been completed, both sides aren't comfortable parting with the required pieces.

Canucks already rejected Lundkvist+Chytil+1st at the deadline. Swapping out Lundkvist for Robertson is an even worse trade.

It has to start with Schneider+2023 1st+.

Honestly, sounds like Miller to NYR is getting v close so soon we will see if the NYR fans on this site are delusional (likely) or if VAN fans are (unlikely)

Realistically it’ll probably be somewhere in between. It won’t involve Schneider who Canucks fans have been pretty much demanding, but it’ll be more than Rangers fans think they should give up

It’s Schneider Chytil or Kakko then, not two of them. Maybe Cuylle as the other. Rangers need to dump some salary in this trade, thus why they almost have to take Kakko or Chytil. And no way do they do that. One year at 5.2 then we have to pay him. You’re probably right tho, which will bend. I don’t think Drury will bend for miller, he’d go to a plan B

Schneider, 2024 1st, 2022 4th?

I don't think you guys will part with the 2023 1st, nor should you as it's a deep class.

The leverage Vancouver doesn’t have is because he only has one year left, then he HAS TO BE extended to make the deal worth it. That all diminishes the return

Vancouver is delusional where Lundkvist isn’t a good piece. Hughes is pair one, Nils is pair 2…why is this a bad thing? Nils doesn’t have an opportunity with the NYR, otherwise he wouldn’t be traded. His value is beyond low on these boards

They have to part with the '23 1st, Top-10 scorers aren't cheap. The '24 1st+4th definitely doesn't do it for the Canucks. Schneider+2023 1st+ as a base for Miller.

Canucks don't have to trade Miller. Multiple teams are calling because they want Miller. An extension is likely part of the deal, it doesn't diminish the return at all. Fiala went for a 1st+Blue-Chip prospect as an unsignable RFA. Miller is better, Miller is worth more than Fiala.

Lundkvist is a good player, the problem is Vancouver already has Hughes, OEL, Rathbone, and Dermott for the LHD next season. The Canucks need RHD, Schneider has to be a piece coming back.

Nils is right handed ffs thus why he can’t play in NYC

That’s the deal what I posted, if it isn’t he’ll go somewhere else

Based on reading it seems like the D prospect is where the fans get upset lol…suppose it was Cuylle instead (who is Miller lite. Winger tho) and Kakko or Chytil. You get two top 9, at worst, players.

Schneider, Laf, Othmann and Kandre Miller are untouchables imo. Anyone else could be moved (within reason)

Hoping this "news" is just there to press either Copp or Strome into a NYR friendly deal...
Miller to NYR makes zero sense....a roll of the dice for 1 year. 19M next summer to fill out 9 roster spots- among them 2C, LaF, and Miller. Can't see that going well. NYR have no shot at extending Miller- will be looking for in the 9M range...even coming down to a more team friendly AAV would be cost prohibitive. I guess we'll have to scuttle Miller and/or LaF? I'm not on board with that.
