Description
Priority 1: Goaltending
- Based on last years offseason, you know Dubas and co will use their current cap space on goaltending first. I'm a fan of a "reclamation" project like Blackwood that has upside. I also like the tandem idea because its more cost effective and protects against injury. Blackwood alternatives could be Nedeljkovic or Samsonov. MAF alternative could be Husso

Priority 2: Filling in the forwards. I imagine a similar approach as last year with a 2-3 Million dollar winger and a bunch of bottom six options. Unfortunately if Kerfoot stays, Leafs can't afford anything other than bottom six options. I like kerfoot, but I think moving on from him after a career year is a good chance to sell high, add cap space, and recoup some middle tier draft picks. These depth guys are so hard to predict, but i've added some I like. Other options could be Domi, M Johansson, Larsson, Kase returning etc.

The D is pretty set barring a trade. If Holl leaves, Leafs just need a cheap depth option; preferably with some "jam"

My Mrazek trade is probably the BEST case scenario lol. I'd be happy adding anything other than a 1st or one of our top 4 prospects (Robertson, Knies, Niemela, Amirov) If there's no takers, maybe we run him back and hope for a bounce bad. Not ideal at all, but I hate the idea of giving up so much for a cap dump

Also who is everyone hoping the leafs draft? I like what I hear with Ostlund and Ohlgren, but I think a big D is needed, as Brodie, Muzzin, and Gio will be gone before we know it.
Due to this I'm hoping for Pickering, Bischel, Warren, or Luneau.

You say that you like Blackwood’s upside, then offer dirt for him. Lots of devils fans believe in his upside too. You aren’t getting him for free. Plus Blackwood is nhl caliber, abramov is not. Don’t even start with Campbell bc he has ZERO value as a ufa. Maybe a seventh. ATTENTION LEAFS FANS, YOU ARE NOT GETTING BLACKWOOD FOR FREE. STOP OFFERING GARBAGE FOR HIM. Devils counter with Nikita popugayev and the rights to mason geertsen for Rasmus sandin

Canucks accept if Miller is traded, but Kerfoot is worth more than that.

First of all nice detailed description.

I think the Leafs will manage to fix their bottom and get the depth scoring that they lacked last season in the playoffs. The previous season(s) a large issue was that the stars weren't showing up on the scoreboard and they all did to a reasonable extent last season and I think they will show up again. However, if I had to predict the cause of another first round exit, it would have to be goaltending. I think that whatever duo they do end up getting, it won't be a good fit in the playoffs.

As for the draft, I do think it would be wise for them to add to their defense prospects, but they still should take whoever they think is the best player available with their 1st rounder.

In regards to the additions, I would hope they land both Fleury and Husso but the cost of signing makes it unlikely (a Murray buy out could allow for a cheaper tandem). If they could add a guy in the 3m range for their top 6 over Woods, that would be great, i'm thinking Strome if he's willing to take a discount. Like the other additions except I hope they can get some guys a little cheaper, particularly White.
