Description
I HATE the Idea of of trading Tom Wilson but at this point it might be the best option. They need to get younger and faster but still have a lot of uncertainty around Backstrom. This could be the shake up they need while still giving them some cap flexibility.

Doesn’t fit what Vancouver is looking for at all in a miller deal

Honestly my boy it's not really worth. I think Miller is the better player, but it's not substantial, and he will make your window harder next year with an insanely high cap-hit/term, or he only comes as a rental. Miller is a physical player, but Wilson is way more of that then him. Forecheck is not even close. And give Wilson 82 games of prime pp1 and let's see his point total. Defensively Wilson actually probably gives you more, especially if you are playing Miller at C. He is not good enough defensively to play there (although Caps are an above-average team-defence group, so maybe it's not that big). Rather keep my 1st, and get the 2 years of a run.

Also don't think it works for Vancouver as well.

I wonder if he (Marek) is just hearing trade offers and this was one of them. I can't see this at all.

Marek said the two teams he has heard linked to Miller are the Caps & Pens. He also said that Vancouver wants a top 6 forward who is difficult to play against and can score goals.

Doesn't every team want a top 6 winger who is difficult to play against and can score? I wouldn't put much stock at all in any reports about what players want in FA or what teams want as returns for trades, its all leaks by agents and FO people to drive the price up.

Either way, I guarantee that in a Wilson/Miller swap Vancouver would be adding the 1st.

There's about a negative infinity chance the Caps trade Wilson right now, even for Miller. He's one of the untouchables with Ovi, Backy, and Oshie, because those three are retiring as Capitals. I could see them trading Kuzy before they'd trade Wilson, since they see him as the future captain.
