Another Leafs Kings Trade

Created by: Tombot97
Team: 2022-23 Los Angeles Kings
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 6, 2022
Published: Jul. 6, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Buffalo/Kings fans don't freak out. IK most don't want Iafallo but it is just a cap move that could be made to any other team. The Toronto trade is the one I am curious to hear people's opinions on. Basically Spence for Sandin and Lias/Vilardi/51st for 25th.
Toronto gets a cheap RD prospect who would play next year and run the 2nd PP. LA gets an all-around young LD who would be on an affordable contract (would peak during the Champ window) in a position of need. Dubas loves trading back and the Kings could be aggressive again moving up for specific guys.
Lastly, with 20.25ish AAV how would the contracts for Kempe, Anderson, Durzi, Sandin, Maatta, Grundstrom, Lemieux, and JAD look like? JAD is the only potential 2-way contract.

Care to elaborate? Do you think Sandin is more valuable than spence, do they not need cheap contributors in those positions, or do you think Vilardi and Spence won't be a factor for the leafs next year bc just being point per game players in the AHL as young players doesn't translate to the NHL?

Kings decline Leafs trade. Iafallo is worth a lot more.

Spence + 2nd for Sandin would be a good trade.

All the other pieces in that deal are conflating the trade value.

Sandin is more valuable on his own than the entire package you offered (and you have toronto adding a 1st lol). LAs prospects are wilting on the vine and are rapidly losing trade value. Vilardi and Andersson are near worthless trade value wise (think Bracco), a mid to late 2nd is whatever, and Spence is merely an interesting piece (whom i like).

Sandin has legitimate potential and is already dominating his minutes. He has extraordinary value both to the Maple Leafs and as a trade piece. He is the future of the LD which is why so much stress is being wrought over his contract right now.

Really? I do rate Sandin higher than Spence but with their contract situations is he really worth that much more?

Ok well I am not sure the leafs view him like you do, or maybe they really don't want to pay him what you think he is worth this offseason.

Rfa structure serves to deflate salaries. It has literally nothing to do with how he is viewed by the franchise. I want him on the liljegren contract, and I see him the same way I see liljegren.

Unless you think Robert Thomas is a 2.8M player who StL doesn't care about lmao

Yes, Sandin has 4 seasons of professional hockey under his belt, while Spence only has one.

I think Iafallo is incredibly underrated. He's worth a late 1st and a B prospect, IMO.

Look at what Lehkonen got. Iafallo is cost controlled for another 3 years. He's an A1 3LW capable of being effective in the top 6.
