Draft Day

Created by: YTSnipeCity
Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 6, 2022
Published: Jul. 6, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Players who are still expendable after these moves (I just dont wanna go crazy with the trades)
-Hoffman
-Anderson
-Dadonov
-Possibly Dvorak
-Possibly Armia

Depending on what happens, we'll have at least 7 mil in cap space to use in free agency. With Hughes' clients most likely returning to their teams (Bergeron + Letang), im not all too sure who exactly we'd go after. This team looks pretty solid with their young D core, and mix of speedy forwards, along with leaders.

1.
MTL
  1. 2022 1st round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
With Klingberg heading to the open market and Petry clearly wanting to head to the States, I think this makes perfect sense.

  1. 2022 1st round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
This package would for sure obtain another top 10 pick, as the Habs have been wanting to get. Maybe not 2nd, but ill be optimistic here
I also think theyd have to give up Anderson, but im putting Drouin cuz I dont want him being in the lineup come fall
NJD

Thats why I said it probably does not get 2nd lol. Anywhere outside the top 5, most likely, but I was being optimistic. Also why would we ever move down, when Hughes ideally wants 1 and 2

You are grossly overrating the value of your own players if you think that MTL-NJ would happen.

Im not lol. I said somewhere in the top 10, just was being optimistic with NJ. Realistically it would take more than that, but giving 18th, 26th, a solid top 6 player (probably Anderson) plus a young defensive prospect with upside, would be enough. Keep in mind its not Mitchkov going 2nd.

Well thats cap. U think a guy like Savoiem, Kemmell or Lekkerimaki is not equal to Drouin (Anderson realistically), Norlinder, and 2 1st rounders (lets say Lambert or Yurov, then Gaucher or Howard). nah bro

I'm sorry to break the news to you, but Josh Anderson is not a top 6 player.

No, I'm looking at legitimate analytics. But thank you for making assumptions.

So Romanov+ a second essentially got Dach lol. Who the habs see have more upside than Wright. Because I guarantee they couldve gotten him if they wanted.

Ok but that logic istill doesn't make Anderson a top 6 forward.

Romanov is younger, cheaper, plays a completely different position, and still has potential to get better. Whereas Anderson is extremely overpaid, and isn't going to improve. He banked on one good season, and in reality no player is worth nearly $6mil if they haven't eclipsed 32 points once in his career. He is a 3rd liner at best.
