It’s in New York, so it would be close to where his fiancé works. He could be a good complement to Owen Power and Rasmus Dahlin, having a veteran presence, and he could become Captain for that team, which could be an incentive. It’s a stretch, I know, but they are team that could you Trouba, have the cap space, and could give him an incentive.

Nevermind that - the question really should be: why would the Sabres trade a solid young RHD that played in their top 4 and was cost-controlled in exchange for a RHD that is 5-years older, costs $6M more and showed to be a dirty player in the playoffs?

Answer: Buffalo wouldn't.

If you follow what's going on in Buffalo, they already have a long list of current and future players qualified to be captains. With the reckless way Trouba played in the playoffs, it doesn't set the best example of team-first mentality.

Reckless and dirty?
Give it a rest.
Trouba is the definition of team first.

Go give Skinner the C. He is team first for sure.
