Orlov is good but that value is off and doesn’t make any sense for Kings.

Why are caps tanking? They’ve got a tiny window left and as long as Ovi is there they’re not going to tank. They also have some flexibility to improve this offseason even if they’re saying backy might come back. Doesn’t make sense.

Mikey Anderson is a top-2 defender as well (at 23). Here is an article that is ranked #8 as a shut-down defenseman.

Orlov turns 31 this month, someone can pay to extend him 6 years, but I don't see it being a team that just went through a rebuild to get younger.

I never said anything about Mikey Anderson. All I said was Orlov is a top 2 defender and would get a return of at least a 1st and a prospect (look at what Lindholm got and that would be similar)

That was with an 8-year extension for a player who was 3-4 years younger, so you are assuming the trading team will want an extension of a 31-year-old defenseman and that Orlov won't wish to test the free agency. He certainly could get that, but at this point, you have to assume it will be to a competitive team who is against the cap ask for retention and treat this as a rental. Which I see closer to just a 1st, or 2nd + prospect.
