I think that the Hawks might be willing to do it if this if the draft choice is dropped. I don't see the Hawks giving up assets unless they get more in return.

I don't know how Anaheim subracts another 6.4 million from the cap as they would then be 25 million BELOW THE CAP FLOOR...They would have to overpay a few free agents (which they probably don't want) and take on some bad contracts (which they could do) I guess? Just doesn't seem like a good idea for them to sink further below that floor.

If that's all we get for John Gibson, we'll keep him. His term covers our rebuilding time (two seasons) and the beginning of our anticipated compete window (three seasons).
