Mrazek should bounce back. Assuming that Chicago won’t buy him out. Share starts with someone?

Pretty good move for Dubas. Desperately needed cap space and didn't move too far back.

I said fair deal, but this is move benefits the Leafs greatly.
Chicago turns an early 2nd into a late first and gets a goalie who will help them secure 1st overall next year... lol

Leafs move a bad contract for barely anything.
Shoutout to all the goofs on here that said that moving Mrazek would cost a 1st without anything coming back.

Had him going to Seattle with the same 1st for Hayden Fleury. Didnt see too many not giving anything back, saw more ppl tell me he wasnt being traded with a 1st when he was traded with that 1st.

Sigh... While mrazek wasn't my first choice for 1b last summer (it was raanta, then Ullmark (who costed more than a 1b in the end) Mrazek was in the next tier), it was a reasonable gamble that just flopped hard.

The cost is significant but not terrible. Sigh. Time to move on

Yay, no more Abruzzese, Mrazek, and a first for a fifth!

I’ll give you Bracco and a 2nd to take that back.

I was on the record saying a 2nd and a prospect. It's not exactly what I thought we'd get, but it's higher end than I thought. Leafs win slightly, but the Hawks could afford it. I'm happy with a higher end pick than what I was expecting.

I feel like Dubas has to trade assets every year for his terrible signings and trades. Somehow Leafs Nation still think he's a good GM tears of joy

This and Ritchie. Got another example?

Marleau was a Lou signing

Lmao everyone on this site has been screaming for months that it will cost an arm and a leg to move Petr and stupid leafs fans were delusional for saying it would cost anything less and all it ended up costing was 13 spots that amount to virtually no actual draft pick value.

****ing LOL

The fact that after all that, this isn't all the way leafs win says everything you need to know about CF users.
Leafs win easily and it isn't close

The cost to move from 38-> 25 is likely a late second or early 3rd. Around 55-65. So we traded essentially a late second or early 3rd. That's not "virtually no actual draft pick value"

Easy win for Leafs

Like there will be silly people going wtf

But if we look at ACGM's it was

Nick Abruzzese + Mrazek + 2023 3rd or 2024 2nd for FC

Dubas trades Mrazek + the 25th OA and gets the 38th OA

I dont know about you but that seems fine to me as while FC is an amazing guy the 38th OA pick is more enticing

Plus with the space we can now go get Kuemper, Campbell, or heck trade for Gibson and sign Husso

I love how all along everyone was commenting how much it would cost to get rid of Mrazek. It starts with Sandin or a 1st plus. Meanwhile, all it took was trading down 13 picks and people still vote that the leafs lost. People love to hate

It's 1.6 gsva to dump 3.8x2
Oilers literally just gave up 2.4 to dump 3.2x2
1.6 gsva is equal to a 3rd or so, which compared to what users here were saying, is pretty much nothing (feel free to go back and look at all the trades and see what I mean).

3.8 aav compared to a 3rd is meaningless. That's a ****ing steal in favour of Toronto, not to mention that Chicago donked the pick lmao

You win some and you lose some. Win big (bunting) and lose small (Petr and ritchie)

That's what good management is about

Lou wins over Dubas once again.

Lou trades 1st Rd pick for a Top 4 Dman, Dubas trades 1st Rd for nothing.

Yea I know Dubas got a 2nd Rd pick back in a seriously weak Draft, maybe 2-5 players Drafted from this 2nd Rd become a regular in the Nhl.

Honestly this trade reminds me of when the raptors dumped their 1st to get out of Dragic and got a high 2nd

And they ended up with a solid pick

Koloko I believe

If all goes well Dubas at 38 gets one of

Belluz, Beck, Lambert, Howard, Chesley or Goyette

It's still a loss. A poor free agent signing resulted in the Leafs paying another team to take the bad contract.

It cost us a 2nd. That is the price for moving down.

Cost less (closer to a 3rd), and is below market value (see edm), especially considering what 4 mil aav can buy us over 2 years.

People were saying it would cost us the 1st on its own or sandin to dump Petr. Let's not pretend otherwise and let this website off the hook for its ****ty takes.

This is a great trade for the leafs

I mean it could've been worse. Could've gotten three first round picks in a row and whiffed on all of them.

No it costs a 2nd. Canes traded 26 for 39 and 50 just last draft. It's a PERFECT match comparable. I thought it would cost a 3rd but 2nd was the price.
