I'd be shocked if Toews and Kane are still here, despite reports of them understanding what's going on. There's no point. Kane can move before his son starts school, and Toews can get a depth role on a contender. Makes both happy, I don't see how either can be happy to play here. Every player Kane enjoys playing with (Teravainen, DeBrincat, Hagel, Strome, Panarin) gets traded. It depresses me and i'm not Kane.

I hope Kane and Toews request trades. I don’t want them to have to deal with this. We can retain on both. Toews might have to wait to the deadline so another team can retain as well making it a 2.5ish cap hit. Ideally trade Murphy at this point too.

This team mine as well mail it in before the season starts for the next two years. Maybe in 3 seasons they will start at least be entertaining to watch. Season ticket holders hopefully will leave in droves and merchandising tanks along with the team. Full tear-downs more often then not don't work, and the way this team allowed Bowman free reign the last few years and then promote his prodigy to trade Cat for Korchinski is just embarrassing. I hope the Wirtz's end up selling, just a mismanaged bunch of garbage the last 3 to 5 years and now bringing in executives to the front office that are inexperienced underqualified and even ones without any hockey experience just is par for the course. I'm betting the Wirtz's have paid out tens of millions of dollars to settling with everyone effected by Aldrich and now are doing things on the cheap.

I'm saying the move makes perfect sense now because it's a much more difficult decision to make when you're moving your children away from their friends (I.e. Fleury taking so long to make a decision).
