Where to go from here

Team: 2022-23 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 8, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hartman had a good year but I think he regresses next season and we should have tried to upgrade down the middle. Would have loved Dach but I don't think we could have beat 13 and 66 OA for him. I still would love Miller but I don't see us giving up our 1st next year which I think is what it would take (in addition to other pieces) now that the first round this year is over.

I expect this team to be a Wild card team, but probably not one that makes it past the 1st-2nd round. If we really struggle, we should sell Dumba, Talbot, and Gaudreau at the deadline.

Bazos seems like an ass. A true tandem is better for BOTH goalies going forward which can only help his client.

Guerin has made his desire for wanting BOTH goaltenders for that very reason very public, but Guerin has *a lot to think about*?

Jesus Christos...

As I reported, Cam Talbot said after the season he doesn't want to be traded. But there clearly were hurt feelings and this thing is coming to a head.

Guerin met with Bazos and isn't pleased. Guerin also can't call Talbot because of phone outage in MTL

BG can feel that way but I’d Talbot doesn’t, that changes things.

The more I read about Ohgren, the more I like him! He’s also a workout fanatic so he will fit right in with Ek, Rossi, et all.

There seems to be a theme with our picks and I love it. Hard working good worth ethic guys.

I'd rather have Puljujärvi than a 2nd in next year's draft.

Agree here. I’d be very interested in Jesse for Cam. I’d bet Hartman or Jost would need to go elsewhere if this were the case. Definitely in on the idea regardless.

It makes sense, people who work had and have good work ethic are generally successful in all professions, even if they may not have the most talent. Any good manager will tell you they'd rather have someone who may not be the most skilled for the job but works hard and is willing to put in the effort to figure it out than someone who is skilled but lazy.

Guerin: “I don’t have **** to do. Cam Talbot’s under contract. George can say whatever the hell he wants. My team’s set right now, and that’s the way it goes. We can have all the discussions we want. Cam’s a member of our team. We really like Cam. All we’re trying to do is win”

A lot of people are interpreting Bazos' quote solely as Talbot wants to be traded (Talbot indicated otherwise after the season). I'm getting the impression from team sources that Talbot wants a raise by way of an extension. He makes $3 million this year vs. Fleury's $3.5 million

I don’t foresee an extension happening with Talbot, but that’s just me.

Neither do I.

Guerin will likely tell him if he wants one, he better earn it over the course of the upcoming season. And if the team's out of it by the deadline, he can get delt somewhere else if he wants.

That makes sense to me unless someone blows him away for an offer this off-season.

Maybe, but I have yet to see a single fanbase that that's offered something interesting that would do it for us. And I have my doubts that Guerin will receive such a offer either.
