Just looking ahead to 2023 now that 2022 is starting to look solid.

I don’t think we re-sign Dumba. All indications from Russo are this is Dumba’s last season with the Wild.

I'd like us to get another year on a Boldy extension so we don't have to pay Boldy and Rossi in the same years. I think there's a pretty good chance Addison plays a bigger role this year and we'll have to pay him a lot more than $850k. Addison should also be a full-time NHL'er by 23-24 so there's no reason to sign Cole.

I don't think Addison is going to make it with the Wild. What I'm gathering is that he's too small and doesn't go to the hard areas. All of our top defense are small, except CM now. So, I think they'll likely have to trade him.

If that's what the organization believes, then they should trade him while he still has value. We'll have plenty of size on the blue line - Brodin is 6'1", Middleton is 6'3", Dumba (if he's re-signed) is 6', Faber is 6', Lambos is 6'1". The only small player is Spurgeon. Addison isn't tiny either, he's 5'11".

I don't know that I believe NHL height data. But on Barreiro a few weeks ago, GMBG stated in response about our defensemen that "Dumba plays like a big guy, but he's not that big. I know he's listed at 6 foot or whatever, but he's not one of these huge guys for how he hits people. We've got alot of smaller guys on the D line."

It's in the same interview where he got hot about everyone saying we should trade Dumba.

I took that comment as "He's not 6'5" but he plays like it"

Size can also be in reference to weight a lot too. In that sense, Dumba is fairly undersized for his height. He's not short at 6' tall, but is undersized at only 183 lbs.

Honestly, I'd be fine with that. He's been great, but we could use that contract up front instead.
