Puljujarvi options

Created by: hockeyconnor97
Team: 2022-23 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 8, 2022
Published: Jul. 8, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I’ll be going through the teams that have shown interest in Jesse puljujarvi and guess what players would likely be coming back (generally young players in a similar situation to JP
Trades
1.
EDM
  1. Brown, Connor
Additional Details:
Ottawa has shown interest in JP, Oilers have shown interest in brown.
OTT
    Jesse Puljujarvi
    2.
    EDM
    1. Blackwood, Mackenzie
    2. Zacha, Pavel [RFA Rights]
    Additional Details:
    EITHER OR
Zacha is the more likely return, similar situation to JP
Blackwood is a bit of a stretch, but NJD haven’t shown confidence in him as their future goalie, oilers need a goalie.
    NJD
      Jesse Puljujarvi
      3.
      EDM
      1. Fabbro, Dante
      2. Ingram, Connor
      3. Tolvanen, Eeli
      Additional Details:
      1 of these guys
Tolvanen is most likely, young player who’s struggled to find consistency
Fabbro is not very likely, but he’s a young RD that could help out the oilers if Nashville has a replacement RD lined up
Ingram is very unlikely, but I like him on the oilers, however with skinner coming up I doubt Holland goes for 2 young goalies as the tandem.
      NSH
        Jesse Puljujarvi
        4.
        EDM
        1. Bear, Ethan [RFA Rights]
        2. Jarvis, Seth
        3. Necas, Martin [RFA Rights]
        Additional Details:
Carolina reportedly very interested in JP
Necas is worth more than Puljujarvi, but if CAR and Necas have trouble finding an extension, he could be on the way out (although unlikely) Oilers probably add in this scenario
A Bear reunion is also unlikely, but could happen if Barrie is traded. CAR probably adds in this scenario (imagine Holland traded JP for foegele ?)
Jarvis is very unlikely and I’m probably just dreaming because he’s one of my favourite players in the league, but if CAR is very high on JP it could maybe happen
        CAR
          Jesse Puljujarvi
          5.
          EDM
          1. Kapanen, Kasperi [RFA Rights]
          Additional Details:
Both RFAs, PIT interested. I don’t like this trade personally but it’s definitely an option
          PIT
            Jesse Puljujarvi
            6.
            EDM

              7.
              EDM
              1. Zadina, Filip [RFA Rights]
              Additional Details:
Zadina needs a change of scenery too, also an RFA

IF the Sens move Brown I really hope the return is better than JP.
Not a bad player but I just don't see him having enough Offensive skill at the NHL level to complete a line with Debrincat and Stuzle, and the Sens do not need more bottom 6 guys.

At this point, I would say the return for Brown is a D, and then they add another forward via Free agency.

If Don gives up Jarvis for JP he is certainly high on something, and I’m not talking about the player.

You can keep dreaming for Necas and Jarvis. Bear might do it, but the other 2 you don’t have a chance at.

From an Oilers perspective I would say Brown or Necas would be most attrative option. Blackwood would be interesting too but for some reason I feel that's unlikely to happen. I think with both Brown and Necas oilers would maybe add a bit of a sweetner but who know's.

Tolvanen i'm not sure of I haven't watched him enough to know what he would be worth but most realistically I could see a Pulj for Zacha swap making sense for both teams.

Yeah Jarvis isn’t a serious option I just want to keep telling myself it is

Unless NJ picks up a top UFA (seems unlikely at the moment), looks like MacBlack gets another chance/year along side Vanecek.

At his press conf Wednesday, Fitzgerald was loud and clear about his desire to keep the young GKs in AHL next season. He spoke at length about how it was unfair & unproductive for them (Daws, Schmid) to be exposed to the NHL at this stage of their development. From his comments, feels like MacBlack stays in Red and Black to me.
