Well he is not a first round pick add. So what a 3rd to a 2nd?
    Is that much more?

My original trade was Barrie and JP for Necas. Which I am ok with.

So after being swept by the Avs in the playoffs and seeing Keith retire, your solution is to spend more on offense, less on defense, and practically nothing in goal...?

What is the difference in lineup with forwards. Lost JP and added Necas
Got a better goalie. In fact both goalies are better than Smith and Koskinen
And added our future number 2 D.

Whats the problem. We should have played Skinner the whole playoffs. Husso is gone and Keumper I am not signing for 5 years.

Better goalie? Comrie as 28 career games. He was a fine backup last year but 19 games vs usually worse teams does not make him a "better goalie"

Statistically he is better by far than Kuemper. Kuemper was below average in the playoffs in dangerous chances.
Skinner is ready and the 2 of them can grow together. I dont want to give what Kuemper is going to get.
And like goalie experts say, Comrie is just coming into his own.

Comrie on a bad team was .920
Kuemper on the best team with the leagues best Defenseman .921

Why is Necas worth more than Puljujarvi? He certainly doesn't perform better.

    Necas v Puljujarvi

Necas was a drag on his team while Puljujarvi elevated everyone he played with. Carolina would have to chip in something else or this is a clear loss for Edmonton.

You have to consider the sample size

    You’re comparing 19 games to 57

19 games... He played entirely as a backup. So the only time he ever saw the net was in back to backs or bottom feeders

Yup and last year Kuemper played appr 60 games. Every year before that he played approx under 30.

His lower games played in the last previous 2 seasons were because of injuries but he was 100% the starter when healthy. But hey if you want to run a waiver wire goalie as your starter I have super exited as a Flames fan
